Amazing location, lots of work in the dishes, yet average in our opinion when comparing price to taste. Location was truly great (earlier bookings could have a cruise ship in front but they warn you in the reservation). Service - very good (we were often offered 3 recommendations varying in price from 25 -100 per glass, e.g. Pinot Gris). Food... More

We were travelling around Oz for a month and Sydney was our last stop. We booked this from UK because reviews led us to be believe it would be the culinary highlight. It wasn't. We always have at least one fine dining dinner wherever we go and, frankly, I can't remember one more disappointing than this. So disappointing in fact... More

This is a stunning location and the fact that a cruise ship departed 20 minutes after our dinner arrival was like the entire view being "revealed". The service from start to finish was exceptional to say the least. We chose the fixed menu and asked the sommelier to match our wines and everything, and I mean everything, was faultless. If... Been here a good fee times now and it's always been great, this time i went in with a bigger group of people(which would be more of a challenge to accomodate) but they still did a great job! Wonderful service and food all the time! Definitely recommend this place!

My partner and I planned to dine here for my 30th birthday so we made a reservation 5 months in advance requesting to have a good table for a special dinner. Upon arrival, we were lead to a table right in front of the noisy bar with no view we had hoped for. Determined to get a good table that... More

Birthday dinner so chose Quay, partly I confess because my son is a mad keen Masterchef fan and wanted to try the snow egg. We had a tremendous evening. Great table, lovely warm initial welcome and it just got better through the evening. Chose the 4 course dinner and asked them to match the wines for us. Hard to pick... More

This was our 4th visit to Quay so we knew what to expect. We come here each time we visit Sydney - about every 12/18 months. We hadn't been for a while and while we liked the tasting menu with the usual signature dishes, the wines were disappointing. Virtually all the wines are from Victoria and we didn't think much... My partner has been charged for a credit card fee when he paid CASH. Not only the service was arrogant but they don't care. My partner called them afterwards to have this sorted and there was no follow up whatsoever. Disgusting. Money. That's all they're after.

On our last night in Australia, we chose Quay because of its reputation and harbor views. We were not disappointed. We had the four course dinner for $175 AUS. and each dish was wonderful in presentation and taste. Excellent wine list. Service was great. Save room for the signature dessert calle3d the "snow egg". If you arrive before 7pm, your... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
