Last weekend, my partner surprised me with a lunch at Emperor's Garden. He purchased a '10-dishes lunch for two' on Groupon. The semi-large restaurant is upstairs, above the Chinese bakery where you can buy delicious "emperor's puffs". After you are seated, the waiter will give you a steaming pot of Chinese tea and tap water. The dishes are served randomly... More

We often go here when in Sydney for Yum Cha and they always have the best food. It is not that different, the usual Yum Cha, but we did get something we had not had before which was the string beans with chili and mince. This was amazing and so full of flavour with crunchy perfectly cooked beans. The tea... More

Went for a Yum Cha lunch with family before heading to the Spirit Of Anzac exhibition in Darling Harbour... The food as it came out was very nice (albeit not the hottest) after a few courses we were then presented with a menu to be able to select what we wanted rather than only what was available on the trolley.... Really awful service, the waiter was pretty rude and not friendly at all. BBQ duck was served within 5 minutes, but it was really cold inside, like they just got it from the freezer and put into oven for a minute. The food was just average, didn't worth that money for sure. Strongly not recommended.

At a little hole in the wall between their restaurant and bakery they sell "cream puffs" at 35c each,3 for $1 or 18 for $5. These little fresh cooked, watch them coming out of the amazing piece of engineering that is the cooker, delights are well worth waiting in the queue for!

I'm surprised at the reviews of this place. We like visiting Chinatown in every city we go to and always get a dim sum meal. So at $20 pp we had all the tea and dumplings we could eat here. We found it filling, appetizing, and conveniently located in Chinatown for our visit there.

We visited this restaurant because it is v. convenient in Sydney Chinatown and boy were we disappointed on their service and the food. The waiters were unfriendly to customers( may be we didn't dressed well enough to eat this restaurant), somehow we didn't felt that we were welcome when we walked into the restaurant. We ordered two dishes, one of... More

Scoopon deal No Scoop. The restaurant has definitely changed from its hay day. Need a good paint and clean up. Not a buzzing yum cha it used to be. Food ordinary not like Sky Phoenix, Iron Chef Cabramatta or Marigold!

We were looking forward to yum Cha. Been before but never again. Shoved in an out of the way table where trolleys could not go. Impersonal and unfriendly and perfunctory service. Did I mention overpriced. There are so many yum Cha choices in Chinatown. Don't choose this one.

Best siumai (siomai) I ever tasted (and we have great ones where I live). I really don't know why. Family also loved the prawn and other fried dumplings and even fell in (a long) line for their cream puffs. Overall, a fun food trip for the family.
