Tetsuya's serves a Degustation menu of Eight courses. The menu is unique and is based on the Japanese philosophy of using natural seasonal flavours enhanced by classic French technique and utilising the freshest possible ingredients. Tetsuya designed his own on-site "test kitchen" within the restaurant to enable him to create the constantly evolving and inspiring dishes on which he has built his esteemed international reputation. Tetsuya's offers one of Sydney's most comprehensive wine lists and our sommeliers will, upon request, match the dishes with wine available by the glass. Tetsuya's does not accept or allow the service of any BYO Beverages or items of Food.

It’s been quite a few years since we have dined here and I was hoping that this experience would be as enjoyable as the last. It was. We bought our 28yo niece with us for Saturday dinner. The food and service are as great as...I remember. 8 + courses beautifully presented with matching wines. Mostly seafood also wagyu and duck. All delicious. A great evening thoroughly enjoyed by all.More

Thanks to all its attentive staff! The food was amazing especially the famous confit of ocean trout! Worthy of each penny!

Needless to say, 10/10! A major part of the service was exemplified by Louise, our waiter. Quality, preparation and service masterful. My partner dined there 40 years ago when it was the Suntory and the vibe is still superb! (the food is better!) We will...be back, and if we lived in Sydney we would dine there every weekend! Worth every penny! The most amazing morsels of food I've eaten in my life. Thank you!More

Disappointing (3 stars mainly for the attentive staff). No dish was memorable; and none exhibited delicious natural flavours. The dressing/sauces were fine, but the core ingredients just didn’t impress. Not good value by any means. To quote another review on Google “ There is a...big difference between pretentious and delicious.” Another table of 6 guests were behaving more like they were in a pub - loud and inconsiderate. The staff were reluctant to ask them to show a little consideration.More

One of the best restaurant experiences I have had. Everything was perfect. Can’t wait for another occasion to have an excuse to go again.

Waited 6 months for a sitting and would absolutely return. It was one of the best meals we’ve had. We opted for the 5 course which was the perfect amount. The freshness of the kingfish was unbelievable! The signature dish of confit trout was a...highlight. The main of wagyu had so much flavour it was impossible not to love. The service was also impeccable from start to finish. We loved our waiter who apparently has been working there for 8 years. Absolutely nothing to fault.More

Our second visit - this time for lunch. The first was dinner over seven years ago and that was a meal we still talk about. Pairing the lunch with wine would have enhanced the experience but we did want to enjoy the rest of the...day. The rooms and garden could have done with a makeover (still far better than most) however the food was as great as we remembered. Not every dish was completely to my liking but this was more a function of my taste rather than the ability of the chef. Couldn't fault the service. Well done again Tetsuya's.More

Second trip here. 3 hours went in a flash. Yes it’s ultra fine dining but you only live once. Dress up, have fun! Staff put you at ease. Soak up the relaxed atmosphere and wallow in the food. Exemplary service with a smile, and felt...like royalty. Count on $1000 for 2 with matching wines and a worthy tip, then plan again for next anniversary.More

Sublime. As someone who eats out 350 times a year, I save Tetsuya’s for special occasions. Food is indescribably good and the wine pairing should be mandatory. Simply wonderful

Tetsuya's is Sydney perfection. There is little wonder why this restaurant continues year on year to receive accolades. From the moment one steps into the restaurant, itself a delight given the hustle and bustle of Sydney to the exemplary service staff, Tetsuya's delivers on every...level. The degustation, was innovative, and danced on the palate. Stand out dishes for us were the trout, a long standing menu item (and we can see why), the truffled cheese butter with sour dough and the chocolate stone. If you have to select a top restaurant in Sydney, Tetsuya's should be your number 1. For $250pp, it is well worth the expense.More
