This is my favorite restaurant in Darwin and I eat here at least once a month. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious and is brought out very quickly. Alvin and the team continuously provide outstanding service. They’re super friendly and prompt. I love the atmosphere, the music is at the right level, the aircon is set at a perfect temperature and the lighting isn’t too bright or dark. My go-to dishes are the crispy pork bao and chicken pad Thai.

We experienced a most enjoyable lunch of very tasty and well prepared yum cha snacks. Crispy Spring rolls with generous prawn filling, beef tripe and tendon with contrasting textures, prawn rice rolls filled with steamy goodness that slid down the throat, savoury radish cake and wonderful steamed tofu, all set off with Formosa oolong tea. The dishes arrived very quickly and all at once, so much better than those Melbourne yum cha places where the procession of trollies without the thing you’re really waiting for turns into a lottery. Lazy Susan is also open for dinner, and offers a range of tantalising cocktails. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Great food, reasonably priced & good service. Wine was a bit pricey compared to the food, would of liked a few cheaper options. We ended up getting beer & cocktail. My wife had the chicken laksa and I had the duck pad Thai, both were beautiful. Will definitely eat here again next time in Darwin.

After reading the reviews we were excited to try Lazy Susans. We were disappointed in our experience and thought it was slightly below average dining experience. We were the second table for the evening, the server was friendly but put my main in wrong and I ended up with a meal I didnt order. When he came over he said you ordered that, I told him I didn't and said what I actually ordered. I said I would eat the meal anyway as I work in Hospo and was starving. He said thank you and that the meals were the same anyway!!!! Apart from the fact that they were both beef, they are nothing alike. My partner and I both thought the meals were lacking in flavour and the sauce on the combination pork was far too sweet. The most disappointing part was that the server did not once apologise for his mistake. 3 times while we were eating our mains 3 different servers tried to bring us drinks and meals that were for different tables. We were going to have dessert but after everything decided it was probably best to skip it. We probably won't be back and sadly can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. For a positive we liked duck bao buns and the coconut lychee drink and I thought the bar tenders outfit was bang on and vibing!!

Good place to go if you are over 60, don’t have your own teeth, white, lacking in taste buds and been eating porridge three meals a day. I arrived alone. A young lady asked how can I help you mate. I said I have a booking she took me to a table and gave me the menus. After 20 minutes and no service, I telephoned the restaurant to get service. I had already written down what I wanted from the Yum Cha menu. Anyway, I went to the toilet and the manager said that one of the dishes wasn’t available. I didn’t have my glasses on to see which one on the order. I said which one and the manager said, can’t you read? Then whist I was considering what else to order, he suggested a dish I had already ordered. I asked, can’t you read ? Anyway when I went to pay, the young ‘lady’ told me how much it was ‘mate’, I asked for the bill and it included the dish that wasn’t available. No apologies from either the manger or the young ‘lady’. By the way, I am dark skinned.

A lovely Saturday evening spent in a gorgeous restaurant with fantastic service from Alvin and the team. We had a group of 32 people booked for an event, and all left very satisfied. Incredible food and delicious cocktails, I’d highly recommend the prawn toast as it is mind blowing, however be warned that you will never find prawn toast this good anywhere else. A Darwin institution that never fails to impress, do yourself a favour and fill your tummy with happiness!

Me and wife are regular customer of lazy Susan Darwin. We celebrated our valentines dinner here and as always we find the food always satisfying and the service is always at its best. The manager named Alvin is very accomodating and works on a very professional manner. I salute all the staffs for doing a very good job you all went above and beyond of my everyone expectations.

We go here often and it is consistently good. The service is attentive without being intrusive, the staff remember you! The drinks are served promptly and they are always happy to make suggestions with food choices. The duck pancakes were delicious, the crispy eggplant a staple choice and the Buddha hotpot great for vegetarians. This time we had cocktails to start with and they are highly recommended.

We arrived and were ushered to the back room of the restaurant, thank goodness because the noise being generated in the main room was deafening. We waited for at least 30 minutes for someone to come ask if we were ready to order, before that no one asked if we wanted any drinks or even water and that is usually given upon arrival in most venues. After finally ordering entrees and mains, we asked for everything to come together. the entrees arrived separately after approximately another 30 minutes and drinks. After the entrees were cleared away, the mains arrived looking good. My partners Pad Thai was really good she said, my sizzling Mongolian Lamb literally had no flavor, I was struggling to get through it and halfway through it I realized the drinks had still not arrived. Upon asking, yet again, they eventually arrived towards the end of our meal. Not really good enough and even though my chicken and corn soup entree was nice, it wasn't enough for me to want go back unfortunately.

We pre-booked for 4 for a birthday dinner in what TA rate as the best Chinese Restaurant in Darwin. Unfortunately, whilst we couldn’t call it bad, it did not enthuse us. The Sang Choy Bow was accompanied by very small pieces of lettuce (not cups as served elsewhere) too small to roll (or even fold comfortably). Maybe iceberg lettuce is scarce in Darwin? We enjoyed the spring rolls, but found the Sui Mai to be small and slightly tough (similar to what we would expect from the frozen food section in a supermarket), The Scallops are listed as being served with garlic broccoli – when we advised we didn’t like garlic, they were served without the broccoli … just sitting in a puddle of sauce. We thought some plain steamed broccoli or vegetables would have been nice. The scallops themselves were excellent. The Chicken Chow Mein was requested with crispy noodles. We got a mound of noodles all stuck together (and hard to separate). The Beef in Black Bean Sauce was very nice. The Sizzling Lamb was greasy. A serving of Jasmine Rice for two was good. A serving of Fried Rice for two came out in 2 large bowls with each seperate bowl containing enough rice to feed 4 (eight servings in total). When we booked we advised that it was a birthday for one of our party and requested an acknowledgment of some sort (maybe a small cake or a bowl of ice cream with a candle or some such thing) … we received (or heard) nothing. Overall, over $300 for an ordinary night … not quite what we were expecting.

After reading the great reviews on this restaurant, we decided to give it a go. Better than your ‘average Joe’ Chinese restaurant but does not live up to all the hype written in this forum. The service was very good, however that is as far as it went. I’m not saying the food was not good, it just wasn’t ‘that good’. We ordered the $43 pp banquet. The BBQ buns were tasty but came out cold. The twice cooked pork tasted like a Sunday roast pork left over. The fried rice was average. The deep fried ice-cream was melted due to its lack of thickness and the coating of coconut crumbs was too heavy. The stand out dishes were the Cantonese duck with deep fried buns and the steamed fish. The spring rolls were nice. For a Monday night, the place was almost full. On the drinks side of things $12 for a tap beer, $7 a bottle for sparkling spring water and $40 for one of their ‘average’ priced bottles of wine made a hefty total to pay at the close of our night. If you have eaten real Asian food in Asia and enjoyed it, this restaurant will disappoint you.

A busy Saturday night and I had no reservation. The restaurant was fully booked I was told, but a table for 1 was organised for me with a friendly smile. The all-girl wait staff were the friendliest and happiest I've met. Attentive to my every need but not at all intrusive. The food was excellent - I had crispy eggplant followed by sizzling seafood and Lazy Susan's fried rice. ll food was piping hot and delicious, with generous serving sizes. Apart from people with a girth the size of mine, you will likely want a doggie bag to take home your leftovers! Very reasonable prices too. No wonder the place was booked out - reservations a must for dinner in Darwin! Thank you ladies for a very pleasant experience for one dining alone in Darwin.

Booking was made online and was easy to do. When entering restaurant it was a bit awkward standing by the door waiting for attendant to meet us, would be more comfortable if a staff member was there to greet. Food was very nice, all meals arrived at the same time (big tick). I especially enjoyed the additional spacing between the tables, it was much more comfortable. Thanks for a lively dinner.

While only a limited menu, Sunday Yum Cha hit all the right spots. The servings were the right size (not too big and not too small) and delicious. Service from Jason and his staff is always professional and friendly. A favourite spot.

This place is highly over rated. The food was average Asian, absolutely nothing special. The Cosmo was watery and not worth the $20 that was charged. We were offered prawn crackers at the start of the meal, thinking the 10 crackers we received would be complimentary, only to be charged for them on our bill at the end! The pork tasted odd and the red duck curry tasted more like a thick massaman curry. We have eaten at a lot of Asian restaurants in the past and sorry to say this one does not stack up. Wish we had chosen elsewhere
