Absolutely lives up to it's promise: "Flavour above all else, but also has visual appeal. Food that hasn’t been played with or fussed over, yet delivers maximum appeal on the plate". The restaurant is smaller than I expected, but that means that you don't have to wait for service, food is delivered very quickly, and the noise level was not... More

My husband and I are touring Australia, and decided to seek a really top line restaurant. We were only able to get a same-day reservation because we were willing to come in before 7 pm when the place really fills up. I loved my heirloom tomato slices in their vivid colors, capers, zucchini, pesto and burrata salad. My husband had... More

I went to E'cco for my birthday as a surprise dinner form my partner. We went all out and ordered an entree, main and dessert each. I must say, not a single item on our feast was bad, we loved everything, and even though my partner isn't big on seafood, he had crab and loved it! The atmosphere was lovely,... More

We were recommended to go here by a waitress in our hotel and weren't disappointed. Superb service, good food, fresh fish and average bill for an up market Australian restaurant

My partner and I visited here for my 21st birthday as a celebratory date night dinner. We have visited here before but the menu had slightly changed and we intended on trying new dishes. On arrival the service is quite good, the staff are constantly filling your glasses and asking about your meals, the only downside of this restaurant is... More

Consistently in Brisbane"s top 10 dining venues and it was easy to see why. Fantastic food, wonderful service and excellent wine list. Something for the adventurous and for the reserved. Well worth a visit. Be prepared to pay around $100 or more per person for the experience. Tables a little two close for first dates. Groups and couples catered for.

On a recent trip to Brisbane we walked along the river looking for a restaurant in which to dine, on a warm evening. We were about to give up as we arrived back at our hotel, and spotted E'cco Bistro just across the street. We were welcomed, without reservation. The service was attentive, helpful and friendly. And the food? Fabulous!... More

To much anticipation by Philip Johnson's strong local following, e'cco bistro opened its doors in 1995, starting what has turned out to be a Brisbane landmark restaurant. Located in an historic building on the fringe of Brisbane's central business district, the century old former tea warehouse oozes with character an ambiance. Almost twenty years on, e'cco underwent a total refurbishment in October of 2014, giving it a contemporary look, yet preserving the inviting, warm bistro feel that has stood the test of time.

As Philip says "We do as little as possible with the best ingredients available."
