The beautiful restaurant is surrounded by beautiful paperbark gum trees and beautiful gardens. Nice peaceful spot. Service was very friendly and efficient. Not a lot of choices on lunch menu but food we selected was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely go again.

My husband and I drove down to Kewarra Beach to celebrate our 15th anniversary lunch and we're both so glad we did. Beautiful ambience and Greg the Maitre d' was really professional and pleasant. I had the gnocchi with prawns and chorizo, Rob had the sirloin with prawns - both exceptional but the gnocchi was truly sublime! We will definitely... More

This is such a pretty spot but the food just wasnt up to standard. Strange flavour combinations and I would expect more at a venue of this standard.

Had lunch here, ordered a burger and a steak. The burger was inedible, raw on the inside, tasted like rubber! Bacon was thick and tasted old. Steak was inconsistently cooked. Tables dirty, dust inside drinking glasses. Produce seems very old, and not fresh!

Paperbark serves modern Australian cuisine and does it very well. We found all restaurants in FNQ to be a little on the expensive side compared to a comparable restaurant in Sydney and Paperbark was no exception. The outlook on to the paperbark forest was delightful. The staff were friendly and tried hard but I got the impression that they were... More

We bought a pre dinner drink and headed to the beach for a walk, which is set amongst paper bark trees and is pretty stunning. Dinner was nice, the service excellent. We chose the seafood tower for 2. We also had the crusty bread with white anchovies and dessert was the bomb which was also nice. After dinner we took... More

We had heard rave reviews from peers as we are locals and we were sadly misinformed. The $16 cocktails and drinks were great but the food was horrid. The child "chicken fingers" was actually a crumbed chicken breast which normally isn't bad but as I cut it for her the chicken was completely raw not even a cm from the... More

Management response:

Hello Kim, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback of your experience at the paperbark restaurant recently. And we're sorry to read you were dissatisfied. You are absolutely right to be unhappy with your child's chicken dish, this was a mistake in the kitchen from a trainee. They accidentally cooked an entire chicken breast as you mentioned, and... Ive used this place many times to have quiet business lunch meetings, often we can have the place to ourselves. They serve as good as meals as anywhere in Palm cove (minus the super flashy joints) in a very relaxed open area (see picture). Dinner is great, menu or Tappas, they also have the beach shack for the trendy young... More

Dinner with a friend. As mentioned by other reviewers, great location. Dinner was excellent, my friend had the butter poached chicken and I had the steak. Both lovely with delicious sauces. Service was impeccable and very friendly. We shared a starter which was equally good. Went for lunch yesterday, the food is perfectly adequate for the price. The service let... More
