This is not a cheap takeaway lunch, but is rather authentic. It is small and located off the play, but if you are staying out of the main area or have a car (parking easy), it is good for lunch (have not tried for dinner takeaway).

We were completely wowed by this place. Other reviews have drawn attention to the place itself being fairly low key from all aesthetic appearances, however the food is on point. The sashimi was so fresh and flavoursome, clearly of a really high grade. The same can be said for all the other food we had, great quality produce made for... More

Nothing special from the outside, but food is very nice and kids loved the food too. Service didn't set my world on fire but they were busy probably because the food is so yummy. Definitely worth a visit and pick up some booze next door for back at the room.

We sought this place out after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and also by local recommendations. I was craving udon soup and it was honestly the most delicious soup I've ever tasted. Very fresh. Great service. The interior of the building definitely needs a facelift and the room is small. However, I'd go back on a regular occasion if I... More

I got a mixed sashimi platter of salmon and tuna and it was beautiful! The price I paid was great considering the large portion I received. Also had the miso soup which was absolutely delicious!! Awesome food, I'm a local and will defiantly be recommending the food here. YUM!!!

We love this place - small and unassuming but better than any Japanese we have had in Melbourne. The food is delicious and the service very friendly. Will come back next year.

Just eaten at our favourite Japanese restaurant! We started with edamane beans and miso soup. We ordered the two sushi dishes and both were delicious. We chose the special for the evening, the Moreton Bay bugs tempura and they were delicious and beautifully presented. The hostess persuaded us to sample the special ice cream, black sesame and it too was... More

Still a 'hidden gem' in PD. Returned again this year and enjoyed quality home style Japanese food in a lovely warm family environment. Do yourself a favour and venture not too far off Macrossan St for excellent food and service.

It's an unprepossessing small building on the corner of Port and Davidson Sts - looks like a converted shop or milk bar, so you wouldn't go for the decor, it's very plain. However, the food is a cut above the usual slice 'n dice sushi & sashimi joints (sorry for bad pun!), surprisingly high quality, and seems to be all... More
