Food was most enjoyable. The staff were seemingly in a hurry and we felt rushed. The establishment has all the hallmarks of a restaurant but behaves a sa cafe. The maitre de seemed to want to rush us through and the other staff looked as if they did not want to be there. My suggestion is that te owner/manager work... More

We visited the week before Easter and there were probably ten diners. The waitresses seemed rather stressed as tho this was a big crowd. The waitress stopped by our table to show us the platter she was taking elsewhere. We decided to have that and I agree it was overpriced for what it was. I'm sure the prawns and squid... More

I would not give 4 stars to this restaurant if it were in Sydney and Melbourne but it is good for Kangaroo Island. Service is a bit amateurish and it price for value is not great. Anyway everything is expensive on the island. Food is pretty good but what I liked the most was the small wine shop which is... More

The platter seems expensive-but remember-it is for 2 and it is all local. Cafe style dining. service was very efficient. Friendly staff and good staff to guest ratio (they were busy when we were there). Would go again.

Visited the Marron Cafe for lunch today and as with all KI establishments, we anticipated hiked prices. Add to that the fact we were purchasing crayfish and the result was $40 Marron 'Ara - linguine topped with marron, prawns, and scallops. Fair enough. I almost could have moved on from that and chalked it up, as the food was plessant... More

I had never tried marron before and was keen to give it a go whilst on Kangaroo Island. I was not disappointed!! I had the chili and lime baked marron with rice and salad and my hubby had marron and other seafood with pasta. Both were delicious. Marron is now a favourite food - thanks for opening my eyes (and... More

The information about the Marron prior to the meal was very interesting and a good introduction to the meal. The Cafe staff were very attentive and helpful dealing with special dietary needs.

We came here to buy marron to prepare ourselves, but unfortunately they weren't selling any, because they needed all for the café. We were disappointed of course, but it's good for them that business is going that well. We tasted wines and produce instead. The lady was lovely and we bought some of the products we tasted.
