Its an unusual bar. Set in an old sail-maker's (IIRC) cottage which is heritage listed (so they can't change much), it feels a bit clunky. But in a very Hobart way (ie friendly yet hip) they make it work. A great craft beer list and a ploughman's plate worked for us as we found a nook to settle into.

Great venue. Pleasing range of drinks. Food delicious and delivered in a timely manner BUT for one strange and disappointing detail. Unlike anywhere else experienced, the lamb kofte came simply as greasy balls of delicious spiced meat with just a tiny tub of tzatziki. No bread, not even a tooth pick or a serviette to eat with. Surely a few... More

This place was wonderful - the only reason it doesn't get five stars is because they were out of basil for the gin cocktail and I had my heart set on it! My partner had a delicious ginger cocktail, which was very delicious. A great venue, super-cool set up and an easy chill vibe. Drinks were great and very affordable.

Went for a quick burger and beer and was very disappointed. Only craft beeers available but that's not so bad, but waiting an hour and a half for a burger is ridiculous.

We went for a quick burger and drink and weren't disappointed! This cute cottage also has a beer garden (and bus) and is like an English pub. There is a range of craft beers which you can taste first, plus wines. I had a blackberry sangria which was refreshing. Our burgers were scrumptious! I had the vegie burger which had... More

What a great pub! It reminded me of an old English Pub. A really good place to meet friends for a catch up. There's lots of cosy areas to keep warm or enjoy the outdoors in the beer garden where you can climb aboard the old Metro bus that's parked there. Definitely worth a visit.

This has to be THE place for the hip people or at least those who think they are slightly hip without having to think you are trying to be hip. A cute little pub hidden away in the Salamanca district that is in trend right now. So many little cosy places to enjoy even an old city bus that has... More

If you are wondering around Hobart, during a rainy or 🌞 sunny this venue is the best to visit: friendly stuff, different location where to seat inside and or outside, a bus is parked in the garden and is not just a peculiar attraction, but also a perfectly working place where to seat, inside and get a wine and have... We stopped into Preachers twice on our four day trip in Hobart. Hot cider in the warm bus was great. Great vibes on a cold night.

We called in for a late lunch and pint. Excellent as always. Great range of beers and a couple of interesting ciders. Lovely burger. Such a great place on a grey Hobart arvo. Keep up the good work.
