The venue hosted our Xmas dinner for 95 people. We arrived to outdoor drinks and canapés on the forecourt. Although a cool night the area was well sheltered. Dinner then took place upstairs - beautiful food and excellent service - we had a great night. If you are looking for a dinner or reception option for a large group, give... More

Came for lunch with a friend. We stayed for almost three hours and were never made to feel rushed or that we had to leave. My friend's beef cheeks were apparently delicious, although I did suggest that the chef list coriander as a major ingredient. It was not listed at all, and had I ordered that dish I would have... I came to barilla bay oysters 17 years ago when it was just a shed. Whilst there was no restaurant then, the oysters were freshly shucked. 17 years later, they have a nice building. But they no longer sell freshly shucked oysters. You buy opened oysters in a tray from a chiller. Given that the oysters are already opened. They... More

Dropped in for lunch on our last day in Tassie going to the airport we didn't have a booking but that was no problem. We had a dozen oysters (half Kilpatrick and half Shallot Red Wine vinaigrette) and a glass of champagne perfect way to finish our time away.

For some of the best Oyster's in Tasmania close to Hobart this is the place to go. We recently had friends visiting from Thailand they couldn't believe how fresh the Oysters were! Another tip if you're up the East Coast , on the way out of St Helens towards Binalong stop at the Oyster farm the Oysters there are also... More

Took home a dozen large oysters for $18. Full of flavour and fresh but not the best I've ever had. The venue is not overly wheelchair/pram friendly. Will be keen to dine in upstairs at a later date.

This place is just ridiculous!Waiters are just unprofessional-we had to open and pure our own wine and the table next to us had the same situation with champagne.. Oyster is ok,nothing special BUT..we ordered fries as side dish and we found fish fingers in it...never ever had this experience at any place!!!!After that experience we couldn't finish the oyster-how to... Oh wow. A dozen oysters at the retail store for $12.90. At the time I didn't think I'd be able to eat 12 oysters. But they also have "platters" with eg 6 oysters for $11. There's also platters with prawns. Unlike the main restaurant the retail shop is open 7 days so you could come here for lunch to have... More
