We came across this place on our trip on the hop on hop off bus when it stopped on lygon st. the platter is great, we had the grilled fish with calamari and prawns. It was good yo share. The fish was fresh and tender and the chips were perfectly made. Really enjoyed the lunch. The skewer is also good

Decided to try this fish n' chip & sushi shop in Lygon Street, they service beer & wine which is great. Menu has plenty to choose from and you won't be disappointed. Staff are friendly, food was great and fresh.

We needed a quick, inexpensive and easy meal after seeing a movie at Nova on a very warm night and Sea Salt was a good choice. Staff were friendly and helpful and there were inside and outside eating options - we chose outside because it was quite busy and noisy inside. Service was prompt (considering it was busy) and the... Nice place to have fresh F&Cs! Would recommend the grilled Barramundi and the fried pineapple. Pretty nice. If you are in the area, worth popping by for lunch.

Two doors from Nova Cinema. Go traditional with deep fried battered fish packs or try the healthier grilled fish options with 4 different marinades:Asian, Citrus, Mediterranean or South American. The fish meal starts from $7.90 for fish of the day. Sides are optional with choices like corn on cob, brown rice, salads and fries. Prices for sides range from $2.80... More

This was our first sit down meal visit and we will return. Good value freshly cooked seafood served promptly, with the option of a glass of wine - just what is needed before a movie!

Sea Salt is vastly improved with the store being bigger and renovated. They now have fresh oysters, bugers and are licensed. But sorry sushi (we had spicy prawn and spicy tuna) really was so tasteless.

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
