Walked pass this bakery when it was closed and I'm always searching for good bakeries so it deserved another visit the next day during opening hours. They were already doing a very good trade on a Sundat @7:30am. Tried the bombolini which was light and fluffy with just the right amount of custard. The coffee was well made and the... More

Gorgeous bakery opposite Albert park. The fruit bread is the best I've ever tasted. Great staff and a wonderful array of pastries makes this place stand out from the rest.

A great place for coffee in a sunny spot on Fitzroy St. Make sure you take a sourdough home with you, the breads are great

My sister in law dropped by with a loaf of their sourdough breadto go with our lunch. It turned out to be the star of the lunch. Maybe better than I have eaten in France. The type of bread that makes the simplest meal memorable. To top that we has lemon brulee tarts and divine eclairs...not the monsterous fake concoctions... More

We tried the plain croissant, chocolate and pistachio croissant. The best we've ever had. We also tried the pecan tart, brownie, a wafer thing and chocolate muffin. All fresh and wonderful. The kids especially loved the muffins and ordered them again the following day. The staff were helpful and friendly. A beautiful shop with beautiful food. Coming back for sure.

Consider the bread to be up there with the best in the world. Pastries / pies etc good but a bit pricey. Any loaf is good , particularly like The European which is sold by weight as a half / quarter or whole. The mushroom brioche is a treat but as I s aid a tad expensive. Dont know how... More

I first remember buying this bread from Fitzroy street, st Kilda in 1994-5 . We had a Frenchman staying who insisted upon Daniel,s bread every morning for breakfast. Have been buying it ever since even though now it is an hour to get to his other shop in Carlton. Great croissant, pastries but tis his bread that has made him... More

If you weren't paying close attention, you could walk past this place and miss it! This place has a great selection of baked goods both sweet and savoury. I just wasn't a fan of the coffee. Could be better. This bakery is great for a morning or mid afternoon snack.

This hole on the wall type bakery might be missed if you're not paying attention. The croissants here ( both almond and chocolate) are the best I have had outside of France. The breads are all delicious so pick any. As a regularly I can highly recommend.

Great cakes and pastries, but quite pricey. The flour less chocolate muffin and brownie are exceptional but are very expensive for what you are getting. The muffin is quite small but comes in at $5.50. Great bakery for a special treat once in a while.
