It’s not trying to be something it’s not, good pub with pub sized meals and plenty of beer to go around. Good for a group of friends looking for some decent grub.

You really need to book! This is a restaurant that is very tight on space. I think more suitable for couples and people out for a drink. However the food was good.
Bar is downstairs and is decorated in old London fashion with oodles of paintings on the walls - aalmost like home from home! . Staff very friendly and good selection of beers. We came for beer really but shared a light snack as well..
Dined here whilst travelling for work. The place has plenty of beers on tap and a large pub menu. Tried the veal schnitzel and when it came out did not have high expectations. The veal was thick but extremely tender, chips had a nice flavoured...More
On Collins Street, The Sherlock Holmes offers a welcome refuge - cold beer and good pub food. They have recently opened a sister bar on street level but you will want to go downstairs.
We went to the bar downstairs which is lovely. Great choice of beers etc. The food is superb with great choice and good portions, some lovely wines to try as well. Was so good went here twice in 4 days here.
We did not really research this place before going here. It just happened to be a very wet afternoon, and this was near :). Only later I learned this is a local landmark and well appreciated as one of the best pubs in central Melbourne....More
