Saturday lunch before the Book of Mormon at the Princess Theatre which is 2 minutes away. Anti pasto platter to share and Great Linguini Marinara. House made pasta. Genuine Italian made with love.

Mixed food results: mine was poor, colleagues were good. The massive problem was removing my plate whilst I was still eating. Then saying, oh, do you want me to put it back, whilst I was still chewing. Seriously pathetic.

The three of us arrived at 7.30pm Mezzo without a booking, and were directed by a waiter to a table on the footpath. And there we sat. Just as we were about to go inside to ask for menus a waiter came, so they were brought along with water. And there we sat. Finally we were asked by the owner... More

This would good for exactly the purpose it needed to serve - a decent, quick meal before the theatre. The food was good, the service also attentive and the staff understand you are on a time crunch. Would do again before another show.

Group of 6 on a rainy Saturday night made to feel very welcome when we walked in after a theatre show. Mid size menu with tasty selection and some decent wines. Silvio was charming and we left full and relaxed - we'll be back!

Early meal in town with friends. When the staff realised we weren't there for dinner and show things slowed down to snail pace. Had to ask about main course. Food was ok nothing to wite about. Table location next the bar so the total experience surrounded by dirty glasses etc. The rub was being sprayed with milk and begruding staff... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
