Love their food for their contemporary fusion between different asian cuisines. The place has ample seating and has an upstairs seating section for group bookings. The service is fast and simple.

The food here is great and the prices are even better - have dined here a few times for a good meal however the staff are so rude. None of them want to be there so feel free to be rude back - if they don't get your drink when you ask for it, snap your fingers at them and... More

Try their pork chop rice with white sauce! you'll never gonna order anything else the next time you go there. Anyone who is the big fan of cream soda should visit them too! Guess they are the only one who has it. The food serve super fast no matter what you've ordered. So if you are in a rush and... More

Tried their specials ,spicy chicken on rice, because of their attractive poster. What a great deal only $6.8 for a huge serve in a big bowl. Very yummy and definitely will try other food again.

I think this is a chain as there is one in Sydney. You could have desserts either hot or cold. We had a sweet sago with mango and a sweet tofu with black pearls. Both were delicious.

Delicious cheap meals, large serves and quick service. Singapore noodles are awesome! As it is only a small space there may be a short wait but it's worth it.

Went to try the Bourke Street branch (they have another at Swanston St) after my friend recommended me to try their food. Not easy to find, as it is right inside Midcity arcade. Can't see it from the street. No idea why they are called Dessert house, when they are selling full meals, thought they were selling desserts only. haha... More

Don't get fooled by the restaurant's name. They do have lots variety on their menu apart from dessert :) Very fast service with a very standard staff performance. This is the place to go when you are at Melbourne CBD and wanting a fast service meal, but reluctant to go to a fast food chain. Taste wise, I think its... More

I've walked passed the Dessert House Eatery on Swanston Street many times but curiosity and a hungry appetite took me into the restaurant. At first I thought it was a dessert restaurant but it's a mainstream Chinese restaurant. It's very busy and I ordered takeaway. I wanted sweet and sour chicken and whilst it wasn't on the menu, the staff... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
