Exposed to this place thanks to my running tour Melbourne and enjoyed it immensely. Breakfast sandwich with the runny eggs was a hit.

When I'm in Melbourne there is always places I like to revisit, and this place is now on the list. Had Northern Eggs for breakfast and a strong Cap. It was a great combination, eggs where cooked perfectly and the intrigue of pesto on thick cut bread did not let me down. Its a busy place, the the staff are... More

My partner and i have come here a few times because of how good the service and food is. Second time, we thought the service started to drift off but food is always good. Third time was just awful. We asked for water, it never arrived. We did not get sharing plates when we told them we were sharing the... More

3 of us ate here and we loved the food and the experience. And the decor. Staff were also personable. I had bolognaise and it was delicious and the other 2 had meat dishes, 1 of which was ribs. Both loved their meals too. We enjoyed it enough that we returned for breakfast and enjoyed great coffee and eggs.

This was our second trip to this lovely and it's just absolutely divine, the coffee is to die for and the staff are incredible!! There was even a cool busker around the corner who just set the atmosphere. The milk in my latte was pure silk and this place has seriously great baristas.

Busy busy but the lovely staff found we 4 a table. French toast for 2, eggs benedict and an odd order of hash browns plus bacon (only). All served quickly, and well. Great coffee! Very pleasant, and reasonable pricing. As a late breakfast, it was filling for hours of exploring.

Having spent the last two weeks eating 'Japanese style' breakfasts the big break at RMB was so good. You certainly get your money's worth and the English Breakfast Tea was the icing on the cake. Seating inside or out. Brilliant.

Flew into Melbourne this morning and hit the pavement looking for some of that famous Melbourne coffee friends talk about. Somewhat famished I ordered the big breakfast given I had a big day ahead of me and a large cappuccino, which arrived whilst breakfast was on the burner. The coffee was good, but the breakfast was far better. There was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
