We stopped here for lunch while walking the Chapel st. There are a lot of different restaurants here, but we opted to sit outside, in a leafy shade, so we picked out Tusk. We really liked the ambient. We had a Chicken tandoori chicken burger and a Tusk beef burger. Both were served on crunchy bun and had fries as... More

I have been going to Tusk for over a decade. Francis the owner take exceptional care of his clients, running a busy cafe like a five star restaurant. For breakfast there is no better place to be, make sure you get one of its homemade hasbrowns. Its still the best place Ive had paella even though its cuisine is technically... More

For those who may not know, Australia has no law against traffic noise. And Chapel St is the center of Bikers. Tusk has a very nice terrace that does not is directly on the street. The staff is very helpful and available. The food is simple but very tasty. We enjoyed a lot this place and would recommend it as... More

We're visiting Melbourne and arrived late at night. Wanted to get a decent dinner somewhere. We found this nice restaurant. Had some share plates to start (tiger prawns with prosciutto and avocado + grilled cheese and turkish bread). It was yum and we thought we were full but... After enjoying a nice beer we were ready to order mains! We... More

We stopped for lunch and met friends on a Friday afternoon. We sat outside, tables were clean. Staff were really friendly and quick with service. We got there between breakfast & lunch menu times so had the choice from both. We had the sharing plate and it was delicious!! Generous portion size too! Lovely cafe to try if you're looking... We loved this, Sri Lankan cuisine, excellent food, and great service. We would go here again.Parking was easy and being a little out of the CBD means you are not fighting with crowds for a table, though given the food quality you should be,

Looked nice and it kind of was, though we got the wrong tea, but the lowlight was toast brought to the table with a peel back disposable jam,,,, $6.50 for 2 bits of toast with a 60s country motel peel back kraft jam,,,, I will be going elsewhere

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
