Produces deliciousness in a cup every single day. I would go out of my way to come here rain, hail or shine. The baristas are gods in disguise.

awkward to find down an ally way, but that's the beauty of Melbourne. This is a gem of a café. the bagels are fresh lightly toasted topped with great fillings including avocado , feta and chilli, smoked salmon and even a Ruben with corn beef and sauerkraut all accompanied with pretzels and pickle our party of 3 had all of... Can't really say hidden, down a laneway, but it kinda is. I was hunting around for a coffee shop that wasn't packed like sardines or overly touristy like the other known laneways, happen to stumble upon Manchester Press, it was exactly what I was looking for. Food and coffee was good, had the bacon and chook bagel

On Rankin Lane off little Bourke St you find this little gem. Risk it and walk down the pretty dingy lane. You wouldn't think a great coffee shop was going to be there. When you walk through the doors it's like the Tardis. It opens up to a super busy cafe with some simple but awesome food being served to... More

This was the most amazing breakfast I've ever had, wow my smoked salmon bagel was spectacular, my husband had the rainbow bagel which he really enjoyed and our friends had the chook & bacon bagel and the blueberry bagel with banana, bacon & maple which were amazing too and their coffees are fabulous too, I totally recommend a meal here.

You had to walk down a fairly dingy looking alleyway to find this - no signs or seat outside. The coffees were nice and strong but lukewarm as were all the coffees we had in Melbourne. Breakfast was ok but very basic, a bagel with stuff on top and a handful of pretzels beside it. My husband asked if he... More

Fantastic breakfast stop with friendly service. Lots of bagel options with wonderful toppings freshly prepared. Large bright setting with high ceilings and funky lighting. Thank you for the vote if you found this review helpful.

Been in here twice now in the last 2 days and on both occasions had an excellent coffee. On our second visit we had breakfast, a bagel topped with bacon, banana, maple syrup, mascapone and popcorn. It was lovely!! This place is a must visit.

Great laneway find in the middle of Melbourne. Sunday breakfast bagels at their very best. Great staff, good coffee, great atmosphere.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
