I went with friend's recommendation. Yet, it's not as nice as expected. But it's easy to find and nice to have something different as breakfast.

First visit there was a line out the door - so we left. Next time we visited we made it there at 7am to beat the rush. Food & coffee was brought out quickly & we received good table service. We ordered the salmon bagel with a side of avo for $19 - there was so much salmon I ended... More

Our 2nd visit. The limited Menu almost same a year back, meat or fish (smoked salmon) served with Bagel and pretzels are their specialty. Quite a busy small joint with limited seats. Food unremarkable. Many other better brunch café around Melbourne Will be my last visit

So this place is located down an alley. Upon arriving, they were starting to clean up and close the shop. They didn't mind or cared that we came near closing time as we hadn't changed our phones to Melbourne time :( My wife ordered a cold drip coffee and I got a latte with ice cream. Upon paying, I saw... More

This is a great little cafe. I was have been here twice on visits to Melbourne - mainly at the urging of my daughter (who has been traveling with me). There is often a queue - thankfully, however, we have not had to wait more than five minutes. The cafe has a lot of atmosphere, being situated in a laneway.... More

Having found this place on TripAdvisor I already knew it would be good but I wasn't disappointed. The smoked salmon bagel and the chorizo and goats cheese bagel are so good & the coffee is divine. The place has a really quirky vibe and I would definitely visit again.

Our repeat visit after a year and Manchester Press is as good if not better than we remember it. Friendly staff, a great menu with vegetarian and vegan friendly options, and seriously good food. They are generous with their serving sizes and spreads too. Truly a Melburnian institution.

Hands down, the BEST salmon bagel. Where do I start, fresh, generous and compared to other cafes, your wallet doesn't cry too badly. I also order the rainbow bagel with matcha maple. To be fair, im not a fan of matcha but I wanted the fairy floss and rainbow bagel. I wished there could be some flexibility in changing items... More

Produces deliciousness in a cup every single day. I would go out of my way to come here rain, hail or shine. The baristas are gods in disguise.

awkward to find down an ally way, but that's the beauty of Melbourne. This is a gem of a café. the bagels are fresh lightly toasted topped with great fillings including avocado , feta and chilli, smoked salmon and even a Ruben with corn beef and sauerkraut all accompanied with pretzels and pickle our party of 3 had all of... Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
