Went looking for all day breakfast and found this place. It was cute, cosy and busy for a Sunday morning. Food was great but service was lacking. Hard to get the attention of staff. Paid $20 for a large(ish) meal and great coffee for a cold day. Would visit again but hoping staff will be friendlier next time around.

This is a busy little cafe near Parliament Station. I had a mocha which was great with a good amount of chocolate.

Had lunch here after a business meeting. This cafe was just beside our hotel. They serve great coffee and nice sandwiches. Service was a little slow maybe due to the lunch crowd.

What a nice spot to relax and making break. We love Cafe Excellence. The name is program. Fresh juice is not a problem. The service friendly and always with a smile, even when stress is around.

While staying at the Sheraton, went out for Breakfast and found this cafe nearby. Great food and coffee. My poached eggs were perfect. A window seat is recommended so as to watch the world go by.

We visited this little cafe whilst visiting Melbourne with my family. We chose this establishment as an alternative to the buffet breakfast at the hotel we were staying. It was exactly what we were after. Fast service, and quality food and coffee at a reasonable price. Don't expect anything fancy, but I couldn't fault this place. Cappuccino was made how... More

What a great little find if you want a quick bite before a show or any other thing come to that. Just right next to the Windsor Hotel in Melbourne, this little cafe is a great place to meet friends, for a quick meeting before a major to meeting to organise things or just sit and enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch.... Over cooked and excessively salty pie, outside seating caters to smokers so you must walk through their smoke while exiting and entering the restaurant. People complaining about smoke.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
