We were in Melbourne for the weekend and stumbled upon this place randomly. Being a Sydney local it was surprising to see that they were still open and serving food well past 10pm. We had a jug of cocktail and shared some plates. I had the veggie options including the gyoza, cauliflower and tofu with chili sauce (there was a... More

Surely any place that calls themselves a gyoza restaurant should have an amazing signature dish - right? Well, we went to this place twice in the last fortnight and on both occasions we received cold gyoza, and on the second visit they were burnt too! On both visits we had the lunch special that also comes with miso soup, a... More

Wonderful food & service. As close to Japanese food outside Japan can get, would definitely come again.

Fantastic little Japanese restraunt, that certainly lives up to the hype that it is given. The food was immaculate, very tasty and high class cuisine. I would recommend anyone to go and have a go at it as you will not be let down. I am not a fan of Asian cuisine but this place certainly changed my perspective.

My second visit and just as good as the first time. Fantastic food and great atmosphere. The food is so incredibly cheap but the quality is amazing. It means you can sample so much from the menu and do not have to hold back. Great selection of Sake also.

I have eaten here on several occasions but it never disappoints. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food speaks for itself. I went with a group of friends some were vegan, vegetarian and there is plenty of options for everyone the menu is divided into hot and cold meat, seafood or vegetarian so ordering is simple. The sizes... More

If you're looking for a place where you can have japanese style tapas, this is the place to go! The food we had were food, portions just right to share. Sampled some plum wine and sake, got ourselves a couple flights to share which was just perfect. Service was friendly and it was a relatively comfortable space. Would definitely go... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
