We stopped at Laurent Patisserie during our family holiday in Melbourne. Food are mid range price but a great place to sit & enjoy good coffee.

stopped to grab a croissant for breakfast, it's kind of a bakery standard, but nothing like a good French patisserie that I had in France. Am I asking too much?

Wonderful coffee and surroundings (with an upstairs toilet area) for footsore shoppers is a relief and good cakes and food choices that would be improved by the addition of fresh cream to these treats.

OK, this place is to die for. I have also been to the one at Chadstone Shopping Center in VIC. BTW, that shopping center is pretty impressive too. Anyway, we had several different kinds of pastries. One time, we also bought a big birthday cake and bread. They were all delicious. We didn't eat but the sandwiches on people's plates... More

Variable service, poor coffee and tired decore with staff running it to suit themselves. Not the place it used to be.

Divine! The Croque Monsieur was amazing followed by a gorgeous almond croissant. Coffee was hot and creamy. Delicieux!

I walked past this place on a chilly mid morning and thought wow, I bet this place makes a great hot chocolate. Looked in and saw desserts and wanted to marry the place on site. Went in was served quickly even with the store filled to the brim. Sadly the hot chocolate was better then average but I was expecting... More

My partner and I stopped by for a cuppa and cake this afternoon. Food and drinks were great however the service was terrible. Miserable middle aged man clearing tables and serving drinks needs to take a lesson in customer service! The service here has gone down hill terribly. Seriously if you don't enjoy working there leave !!

Whenever I'm in Melbourne I always seem to find myself at Laurent for lunch or a coffee and this visit was no different. I find the baguettes are always consistently fresh and generously filled with meat and salad or cheese. The cakes are eye catching and hard to resist. I love the airy, light decor and am comfortable here dining... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
