Fantastic fusion of mouth watering tapas. The food was so fresh. The waiters were ever so friendly and helpful in suggestions with what to order. You will not be disappointed.

Unfortunately had to cancel booking, and we notified. We then received a very rude phone call. The person did not let me explain a reason or how we attempted to notify. Extremely rude and aggressive. I am very disappointed with their customer service. I definitely will NOT rebook or recommend to family or friends.

We saw the review about this restaurant on TripAdvisor and we decided to give it a go without making any booking in advance. When we came we can smell yummy food and it was full house, we had to wait 40mins to get a seat. By the time we got two seats at the bar, the bartender gave us two... More

Very exciting eatery. Imaginative food, quality and well presented. Staff are top shelf Best to go with a group as being a little noisy is the only negative.

We were lucky enough to walk in off the street and get seated immediately. The food was simply delicious - everything had such layers of flavour and interest. We loved it all. The waiter was also excellent, advising us on the right amount of food to order and matching wines. Highly recommend this as a "must do" on a trip... More

We were lucky to get a table as we walked in. Not sure what to expect as it was the first time for Tapas for most of our table. We were blown away with every dish tht came out. The service was excellent, our waitress explained the menu extensively, she also knew the story behind our choice of drinks. Each... More

It was my first time at Movida in Melbourne and although I have been to Movida in Sydney it felt like a different restaurant. Every dish was really enjoyable and put together by our waitress which made the entire ordering process so much easier. Highly recommended to try it out if you are in Melbourne.

Small tapas bar with great atmosphere. Even when full in the early evening it wasnt too noisy. Service was excellent with good spacing between the dishes which generally arrived one at a time so you were able to enjoy each taste. Food was all very good without being exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the queso tapa and the burrata and beetroot.... More

When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the

cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes.

It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow

braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
