so if you dont have a reservation its still worth the wait outside for this place. The staff are super friendly and the food is amazing. sardine on bread with tomato super delicious. Can be a bit pricey but its worth it

A great way to introduce a range of dishes to potentially fussy or less adventurous eaters. Great range of different dishes catering to a wide range of tastes.

I booked the restaurant ahead of time for a birthday dinner with my hubby. It was worth the wait! Great food, service and atmosphere. Good choice of meals and we loved the tapas.

It's noisy, it's busy, it's lively, it's vibrant...great atmosphere! Staff very nice and accommodating. The tapas they offer are great, but for a 'Tapas Bar' the selection is very limited, and the portions are small. Missed fresh classics like marinated calamari, baby squid in ink,...More

Movida is a Melbourne institution and never disappoints. You will need to book early as the dining room is quite small. Both the wine list and menu is authentic and the service excellent. There is one house rule; no tables larger than six.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Hi, as the other travellers have said the menu changes regularly. Best to go online close to the time you book a table and check. Better still, call and talk to the helpful and friendly staff.

When we opened the doors to MoVida in Hosier lane, Melbourne in 2003 no one knew what to expect. Here was this little bar on a graffiti covered cobbled lane near the cathedral serving Spanish tapas and shared plates in a down lit room playing funky tunes. It's the kind of place you can come in for a beer and a jamon croquetta at the bar and then move across to a table and share a plate of slow braised lamb, some patatas a lo pobre and down some seriously good Spanish red wine.
