This is a hidden gem on Little Collins Street. The service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing, they were friendly. It was busy and there was a buss of conversation. Our meals were served promptly and they were delicious. Well Done and Recommended..

Walking round Melbourne and craving a steak. Walked past Saint & Rogue and then double tracked and I was glad that I did. Chose something from the street menu and went into the ground floor bar where the bar man said upstairs is better and there is more choice. Received a warm welcome and service from the team even down... More

We really enjoyed our meals at the Saint and Rogue. The meat pies, curried beef and fish and chips were delicious. The pub atmosphere in the upstairs restaurant was great...lovely furnishings and a quiet atmosphere so you could enjoy a conversation. Our server, a Canadian ex-pat, was very engaging, and made us feel welcome.

I could have given this 4 stars but thinking about it I couldn't fault them. The service was excellent. Beyond excellent. The setting of the bar and restaurant is pretty cool too. It's a quick walk from Southern Cross Station too. The food wasn't the best I had, but it wasn't terrible. The $20 steak for lunch hit the spot.... More

A group of 9 of us from interstate and overseas all agreed this was the best meal we had had in almost a week in Melbourne. The food was absolutely excellent and very good value for money. We were seated upstairs, and welcomed into a warm, timber paneled old world environment. Very cosy. Unfortunately we had a medical emergency during... More

As a large group we were welcomed and looked after by the staff. The food was great and a quite diverse selection. All meals were enjoyed and served within a reasonable time frame. I would highly recommend. Reasonably priced food and drinks

Headed to S&R for a couple of drinks after work and ended up staying for a meal upstairs. Downstairs is nice pub environment. Upstairs a little bit further upmarket than a pub. Cajun silverside was slow cooked perfectly and a reasonable portion. Good wine selection at a reasonable price. Under $45 a head for large main and a bottle of... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
