We strolled down little bourke street around the corner from our hotel and it was full of recommended places to eat. We went to Longrain as walkins and they easily accommodated us. The service was excellent, food of great quality and good sized portions with reasonable prices. Every time we come to Melbourne we ask why doesn't Brisbane learn from... More

fantastic asian-fusion dining in Lt Bourke St. We love the vibe of the place and the food is great, but always very busy, so expect to share a table, but that only adds to the experience. Great food, great cocktails and very classy

Hard to find if you don't have GPS as the outside isn't obvious and it is off Little Bourke St. Smorgasbord was delicious with all tastes covered. Some very spicy dishes. Yum. Service was prompt friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable. Not for those on a tight budget though. Didn't need dessert. I can see why it is in the... More

Went here for an evening meal with my niece. Being able to order half serves of several menu items meant we could taste a wider variety of dishes. Helpful staff, great decor, delicious food... and I mean delicious!

Had the pleasure of dining here. All the food and wine was top notch. The eggnet salad was a real hit and our favourite. Will definitely be back.

Certainly can not understand the hype of this place. Would not recommend if you are hungry as portion sizes are not worth the price! A main meal is smaller than regular entree's, and flavours and taste were not great either. They seem to put most of their effort into making the plate look pretty. Went with a group of 4... More

Arriving ten minutes before twelve we were locked out until four past twelve. Taken to our seats and offered still and sparkling water. Asked for one of each but the tap water was rationed and not offered for the next hour and half. The pork hock was dry ,crispy and enhanced by a chilli, vinegar sauce on the side. Chinese broccoli... Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
