Great indian restaurant with some nice tables to sit on. I ordered Tikka Masalla (spicy) with rice and it was absolutely delicious. You get a main dish for around 16 $ + 2-4 $ for a bowl of rice depending on the size. Garlic naan costs 3,5 and was really good. The tofu dish of my partner was also superb.... More

We found this little gem from searching TripAdvisor. We had dinner here on a Sunday night with no booking but the staff seated us at a cosy table at the back of the restaurant which was tidy and with lovely surroundings. The wait staff were prompt and friendly, our waitress even remembered our order without writing it down!! When the... More

Every time I think of this restaurant I just want to go back ! The food is beautiful and reasonably priced. I have been to many Indian restaurants but this one definitely tops the lot !

Loved the food here at Red Pepper, a very basic restaurant but the food speaks volumes. Will suit both vegetarians and carnivores. Totally recommend

We used to come here quite a lot. It used to be a no frill, cheap and cheerful Indian restaurant serving decent Indian meals. After 6 or 8 months I have returned for the first time, I clearly shouldn't have. The restaurant had gone upmarket, that should have made me suspicious. The experience was food and service wise dreadful. Being... More

We went to this place this evening. I went inside to ask for a table, the waitress was polite and mentioned to wait while they clean the tables that made sense. After waiting for half an hour we were directed to a table and one of the staff dumped 10 menu boards in front of us that absolutely made no... More

We made a trip to visit this restaurant as it was recommended in a guide book. Mistake! The service was slow even though we were one of only three tables occupied in the restaurant. We thought that we had been forgotten the food took so long to arrive. All the dishes were overly hot, way too heavy on the chilli,... More

I had a bit of trouble finding an Indian restaurant that was licenced and suitable for one. Well what a find. I sat outside and enjoyed a lovely dinner with a couple of glasses of red. And all for under $50. Highly recommended.

Thank Andy B

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
