I had a great lucnh at Mutiara Malaysian in Ponsonby yerterday. Everyone talks about the great Laska Mutiara makes so as a person who likes to try new things gave it a go!. Yep it was amazing. Noodles prepared to perfection and loads of seafood. Not too spicy but full of flavours. I understand the owner Roy personally prepared the... More

We ate lunch here and found the place to be very average. I had a seafood soup and a fish dish. Both were pretty good but fairly bland in terms of spiciness. My wife didn't care for her noodle dish because it was bland and didn't have much meat in it. We didn't have anything that was bad just nothing... More

Generous meals for their price. Lovely friendly service. Best laksa I've had in 2 years! My partner's Mamak noodles was delicious! We were a walk in table for 2 just before 8pm. The restaurant was very full by that point. The noise level was fine the only reason I can't give 5 stars is due to the hour long wait... More

The owner chef called me from NZ before we travelled there in response to my online query - the only one to do so - and discussed my special request for Malaysian Chilli Crabs for a party of six and then went out of his way to procure the crabs for this special order and prepared two massive servings of... This restaurant was chosen by others in our group and turned out to be quite find! Not only is it a BYO, the food is really good and the prices are excellent, so for a really fun and enjoyable evening, this restaurant certainly hits the spot if you are on a budget. We ordered the set menu, which was amazing.... More

A great experience for my English relatives. The food was great and the service was even better. Highly recommend to anyone who likes generous plates of food for a reasonable price. BYOW is also available which keeps prices down.

The nasi goreng in this place deserves a place in the mind to remember - it's seriously good, though not abundantly provided with prawns even for the 'prawns only' version (which costs extra). Staff is very friendly, though lacking some confidence (could have been a new staff member...). But we'll definitely be back here again.

Thank Leo L
