Bach'n continues to survive purely because of its view and location (opposite the beach). The service is slow and unprofessional. The menu has changed over the last few years and now focuses too much on being "cool" and "trendy" rather than providing things people actually want to eat. There's also a bizarre rule around the menus: breakfast is till 11am... More

Selected to eat here due to not being busy. Food is lovely but be prepared for a very slow service and several reminders to the waitresses for some one to take our order, water for the table and butter.

My friend and I went for lunch. Her meal came out 30 minutes later but I had to wait longer for mine. After an hour without my meal I approached the staff to ask where my meal was and the fact that I had to watch my friend eat hers while I waited. The staff member was very rude and... More

We regularly bring friends & family from out of town here for lunch. It's a short but senic drive from our home in Howick. Food is consistently good & the menu changes regularly.

This place is worth the drive, we came down the southern motorway, turned left at Pakuranga and drove thru Clevedon and then followed the Pohutukawa Coast scenic drive, what a beautiful trip, we came straight home thru Howick which is very quick but very boring. Back to the cafe, this was a Sunday lunch visit it was pumping, the wait... More

We have dined here before over the summer and this time we were a little underwhelmed. The menu seems to have changed and maybe management, not sure. We had a bacon and eggs style breakfast and it just tasted different to what you expect. Maybe that's their aim. It fed us, but I wouldn't go there for breakfast again. We... More

Absolutely shocking snail service. Waited 45mins for a smoothie. And that was after I had enquired twice about our order... hopeless since it was a fathers day brunch... then an extra 20mins for the two burgers.... lucky to even get 1 star from us! Never going there again!

38 mins ... Cafe not that busy and finally we asked for it on takeaway cups. One mouthful and into the bin. Coloured milk!!! No coffee flavour at all. Certainly my last visit.

After a day of walking we had to stop for a quick bite and something hot to drink. Carrot cake was exceptional but the apple crumble uninspiring; the staff member might at least have offered cream/yoghurt to go with it. Great location needs to be matched with customer service, which NZ generally lacks.
