Overnight stay in Gisborne resulted in being recommended this restaurant. We were able to walk from the Motel along the beach walk way. Had a great meal - starters were good but the Main course was even better - the Eye Steak was cooked perfectly. No space for dessert but they sounded and looked great.

The excellent quality of the food, the homely almost romantic ambiance make this I would think one of the top local restaurants. Probably best suited as a couples treat.

A good evening out. This place was recommended and we got efficient service and good food but I thought it was quite pricey and not up to the levels claimed. Worth another visit.

6 of us visited for dinner when staying in Gisborne. We all ordered different meals, the food and presentation were superb. Lovely staff and the service was also fantastic. Well worth a visit.

We were recommended this place, not ever being to the area we gave it a go. Definitely overpriced for the food and service. We thought that we would be buying a food and service experience but was quite the opposite. Everything is worth a second go but this time i found it to be 5 star prices for food and... More

Delicious lamb shanks and friendly, prompt service. With mains around $35, the menu seemed pricey. We wondered too, why the mashed potato was swimming in oil?

We booked online for Valentine's day, There was a hiccup confirming our reservation when we arrived however my partner showed the reply email but the staff were already sorting out having a table for us rather than us waiting. The waiter was a lovely mix of friendly yet knowledgable and professional. The meals were a delight and the atmosphere pleasant... More

I've always wanted to got o USSCo the whole time I've been in Gisborne. Finally went last week and wasn't as impressed as i was hoping. For the prices you pay there was certainly some lacking. I had the vegeterian lasagne, with the pasta being inconsistently cooked, a little bland and could have done with a bit more love. Breads... More

We both had fillet steak which was served to perfection. The service was very good. The bar and bistro are very well decorated.

Visiting Gisborne for a couple of nights, we were recommended to make a booking, a Thursday night. This made me anticipate a great meal. The lighting was a bit bright for a Bistro, especially when the great building lends itself for a more thoughtful ambient. I ordered the beaf fillet, with potato gratin, I received an unappealing brownish slab of... More
