Lovely meals enjoyed by our family but spoiled by the awful 'thump' music that is piped throughout the restaurant, I'd understand that if I needed to be pumped up for a fight then this would be the music to play - but not in a...restaurant!More

Been on holiday for a month in NZ & eaten in a variety of places. This was the best meal by some distance. Each part of each dish hit you with flavour. A great experience!

We have been eating here for many years , sadly on this occasion all was not up to scratch. Our party of 12 were placed in a somewhat cramped space , the service was ok but not overly special, the food was superb but portions...were somewhat minute compared with our last visit. Palate restaurant is located opposite the Novotel Hotel in Alma Street. The ambiance is lovely with a definite upmarket appeal. We found the food to be delicious, creative and innovative. However, the staff let this restaurant down as we found them to be off handed..., a reminder, a smile goes a long way in today’s world.More

This restaurant has a great reputation and it doesn't disappoint. The food is awesome. Original flavours with first class service. A great night out and good choice for a special night out. We'll be back .

Certainly did not deliver on service and the dish was very average. Staff did not listen to what was requested and they seemed young and untrained. Was really looking forward to dining here but very disappointed.

Having dined here before we knew to expect some amazing food and so we'd booked the 5 course degustation menu with wine match to really get a taste of multiple parts of the menu. And looking at the full menu, every single dish was perfect...for our palates. Every course was amazing, full of exquisite flavours which made you wish that each course wouldn't end and yet wondering what was coming next. Plus some really good wine matches too. As before, great service, this time from the chef's daughter, plus we got to chat to the chef too. With food this good it won't be too long before we return.More

This a fine dining experience, a delight in central Hamilton. Service attentive and efficient. The menu was small but catered for all 'palates' with beautifully presented and mouthwatering entrees. We had the duck, seafood entrees, gorgeous flavourful blends. The venison, steak and fish mains each...had such taste with each element completing the other. The deserts blew us away, particularly the baked Alaska with Cointreau. Highly recommended experience!More

Having dined at Palate before I had high expectations and was not disappointed ! We called in for an early lunch after staying in Hamilton for the night. We chose to sit outside on the deck as it was a lovely day. The service was...top notch and the food really great, everything had wonderful flavour combinations, could not fault it.
