The mussels and fries were the most amazing I have ever had. We went here 2 days in a row for the huge green lipped mussels. I would have gone here every day if possible.

A very nice place.....Great atmosphere that reminded us of bars we had visited in Bruges. Service was equally prompt and friendly. Great menu with Belgian favourites in both food and drink. Had a few glasses of leffe, served in their own glasses. Tick box number one. Decided on mussels and fries, both yum and plenty big enough to share. Mussel... More

We had a family brunch one Saturday morning. The kids had waffles and the adults shared 2 pots of mussels (yep had mussels for brunch). Both were delicious. The service was warm and friendly and food was delicious. We felt the mussels were a tad overcooked, so a bit chewy. Didn't bother us too much. Normally I'd give this place... More

We had seen the restaurant one evening and decided to try it for lunch. We enjoy the british style meat pies (not ones that you eat with your hands) and they had a couple of versions. We chose the venison one as it came with a pastry crust on top. At 29.95, it seemed good value. It had a rich... More

Leuven is a pub with a difference--this being a specialty in mussels. NZ seafood, in general, is far superior to the US because it's FRESH!

Casual, pub-like atmosphere, range of Belgian beers as well as decent wine selection. Interesting menu with lots of mussels options. Area of booths for eating worked well as was catching up with an old friend and plenty to talk about, noise not an issue even though it was busy. Pretty central in Wellington so walking distance or short taxi ride... More

If you want to try lots of delicious beer this place is great, however I thought the food (dinner) was a bit average for the price. Requested "rare" steak, it came out as medium to well done and wasn't a particularly great cut. Would recommend having beers and snacks rather than going for dinner.
