Amazing wood fire bbq steaks and tapas. Great selection of wines. Best steak I have had in Wellington

Pig like you have seldom seen before. Cooked slowly above an open flame they get points for getting out of the kitchen and on to the street!

I took a couple of colleagues here for dinner this week and once again El matador delivered . We were seated and ordered drinks and then got talking and forgot to view the menu .. 3 times! Staff were patient and assisted us with ordering. Big flavours and fresh deliciousness ensued. The feel is funky retro, the staff are pleasant... More

Really nice Tapas meal with some excellent tasty dishes and a good wine list. Very busy place which says a lot and we were very happy with what we had. Would recommend the beetroot and the pork belly - but all the dishes we had were very good. Might be worth booking to make sure you get a table!

Interesting mix between Argentinian and Spanish cuisines. I liked the full breakfast with black pudding, although the beans weren't that good.

Where can i start... first the water was warm, then the coke was warm and without gas, we ordered a flank and got a rump, which was cold!! The sweetbreads were boiled rather than bbq'ed and didn't have any taste really... On the plus side, we also asked for some ribs, which were very tasty! And the waiter seemed nice... More

Steaks were really well cooked. Decor a bit different but adds to the atmosphere. Service was good. Coffee was great.

This restaurant appeared to be very popular with locals, so we were pleased to get a table without having to wait long. We were very disappointed with the Graucho burgers. We don't usually choose burgers, but on the menu they were described in a tempting way. The food was very disappointing, but the service left much to be desired also.... More

Restaurant was quite worn out and because of their open fire grill your clothes need to be washed afterwards. But two most important things worked very well: food was excellent and service was good. Portions were quite big and this is definitely not an expensive restaurant. Atmosphere was relaxed and easy going. Good variety of wines and beverages.

El Matador has seriously good steak! I would highly recommend the sirloin, which comes with a side salad and delicious chapa (thinly sliced, fried) potatoes. Good meaty sized portions but not enough for you to feel stuffed. Friendly, efficient service and a tasty cocktail list. Highly recommend for steak lovers, oh and the Bauch Burger is damn fine too.
