There is absolutely nothing flashy about The Oaks Satay Noodle House, but they do offer a heap of choices of the noodle, rice, and stir fry variety - and most for a mere $12-$13 per plate. If you're looking for a cheap eat without any fuss but where you can still sit down at a table with a knife and... More

Sorry I haven't take any photos before I eat, but it's so amazing the laksa chicken noodle soup, perfect coconut and curry scale, beautiful chicken and just enough portions. Well, I will come back for it next time!

Looking for simple but great asian cuisine that's good value for money? Then this is one place you should visit. Its tucked away upstairs on the corner of Cuba and Manners, above Arty Bees Books. Accessed off Cuba.

A colleague made me aware of the existence of this place and I'm glad he did! For the most part, you'll find the usual suspects somewhere between dish #1-#42. The first time I came here, I had the Nasi Goreng and I've struggled (unsuccessfully) to venture beyond it. It's a seriously big portion. On the most recent visit, I decided... More

It is what it is...cheap and cheerful. We had green curry and red curry, rice and roti for two and spring rolls. It was just OK...both the curries were pretty average, one was watery and the other more like a stew. Spring rolls, rice and roti were fine. I'm sure there are better places on Cuba Street but this place... More

Found the Oaks Satay and Noodle House in a wander around the centre of Wellington and it was just what we were looking for. Simple, no fuss, clean, fast, efficient and tasty food at affordable prices. Loved it.

The Oaks is my local Asian restaurant that always comes through with good food for great value. It's not fancy at all, but when you are looking for good food for an excellent price, stop by and have a meal.

Food here is wonderful - tasty - not cheap on ingredients This is not a place you come to for 'ambiance' or romance. Very basic interior in need of updating. when it's full it's very noisy. You come for the food and as far as food goes - this is one of the best in Wellington. Very tasty. One of... More

Friends showed me up to this place under their recommendation that the food was better than no other in Wellington. They were right. Great food and authentic service - mirror image of your typical budget Thai resteraunt. Deffinate visit for cheap but great food
