Love eating here, friendly cheerful staff, lovely local art work decorates the walls, and of course delicious home cooked style roast dinners and dessert (roast beef, pork and lamb are the usual roasts, with all the usual trimmings you'd expect, potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, cabbage, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Dessert can be anything from bread and butter pud, choc pud, or... More

We visited last night with a group of around 20 from our neighbourhood. We have visited once a month with our neighbours since arriving in the area. Whilst the environment is modest the food has always been good. It is a smorgasbord menu. Cookies is to close at the end of next week as there lease expires. They are going... More

Chose to eat here as I wanted a quick and affordable alternative to fish & chips and noticed they had a buffet-style roast special on that night. The beef was succulent and tender, the roast spuds delightfully crispy and the rest of the veges cooked as your mum would cook them. Traditional desserts provided as part of the deal. Surroundings... Had a lamb roast which was delicious. They have lots of vegies to choose from and let you help yourself. Nice gravy and all the trimmings. Avoid the 12 o'clock rush and you'll get really quick service. Very yummy.

My sister recommended this place to meet for lunch... I was so rapt at the food. ..traditional old roast AND apple pie and freshly whipped cream. To die for yum Yum. I would drive down again from Napier just for lunch. It's a " you just have to go" place.

'Cookies' restaurant is an institution on the Kapiti Coast. It is a family run business, serving up delicious, affordable, beautifully cooked, down to earth meals. No fancy plated meals here. You serve yourself from the large tureens of soup, roast meats, tasty vegetables, a selection of deserts, and even tea or coffee. You are even encouraged to go back and... More

Great we find. This is a set menu for $12. We got a roast lamb, potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, peas, leeks and gravy, plus fruit crumble and cream, tea and coffee. I also think they have soup as well, but we didn't have any. Nicely cooked, good size meals. No wonder this place is packed. Very basic restaurant but food was... More

I've found most places to eat in Paraparaumu so was surprised I had not been in here. My loss. This is a great takeaway. I chose a day when the roast of the day was pork, complete with crunchy crackling. They give you a plate to choose your own veges which was great. Generous portions and a very reasonable price....
