Everyone enjoyed their selections. Those who selected entries were able to blend their meals seamlessly with others who chose mains only. Every course was Thoughtfully put together. Staff were helpful and the wine list extensive and complimentary although there could have been more nz wines. The Ambience is relaxed and there is no pressure to leave the venue.

The food was superb in presentation and taste; the service excellent and friendly and the French wine complimented the food splendidly.

Cannot fault this place - the food is soul food, the wine list diverse - we have the 5 course set meal and it was perfect.

The food was beautiful as was the wine. Not sure on the new location though. Just doesn't have the same atmosphere as the previous restaurant. Also missing the white table clothes which kind of added to the mood. Location was very hard to find, even the taxi didn't know exactly where it was and limited signage didn't help. Service is... Bonjour NzQueenie, Thank you very much for taking the time to review St Germain. We feel a little disappointed for getting a average rating. As you said the food & the wine was beautiful and we feel that deserve a little bit more than average rating. Hopefully you'll try us again. Look forward to seeing again Merci Frederic More

Had dinner here on anzac day. The food was ok but not special. The service from one of the owners although reasonably sound lacked any warmth and could be described as mechanical.

There are not many fine dining restaurants in Christchurch so a restaurant like St Germain is most welcome. It comfortably meets fine dining expectations, primarily with its food. There is an argument that the food is all that matters but more about that later. The menu on our visit featured a number of French classics - Duck à l'orange and... More

It's great to have a bit of French flair in Christchurch, made all the more authentic with the friendly French staff. Our biggest problem was making a choice between so many mouth watering options, and then knowing we will have to return to try more! The presentation was outstanding and the staff so helpful when it came to making recommendations... More

The food we had was great, beautifully presented, however there is only a small amount of vegetarian options in the menu. The service was good. Environment was busy and quite loud at times with larger groups present.

Love this restaurant, the food is super. The best french onion soup done properly, then a fabulous steak and then creme brulee and a very nice wine. In its new restaurant, architecturally designed, and with views to the skyline from most tables, i enjoyed a senior birthday, and felt spoilt there. Wine is slightly expensive, but who cares when you're... More

Apart from arriving to a bland and underwhelming welcome our host warmed up as the night went on. The service was efficient and informative. The food was amazing! It was the best meal I have had in CHCH since moving back home from London. I had the Lamb it was tasty and perfectly cooked. The only thing I would note... More
