Really great service and friendly warm environment. Food was delicious and came out quick and great selection of coffee. A must visit for a breakfast in Christchurch.

My husband and I visited on a bleak chch Saturday for brunch. The cafe was lovely and warm, inviting and super busy. Despite the constant queue lining up to order ( at times 10 people long) the service was surprisingly quick and efficient. The baristas were on the task also so the wait for food and drinks was minimal once... More

Absolutely love this place, has become my go- to! Had a few of the dishes of the menu and all been very tasty. Tried some of the cakes as well and they are just as good! Can't fault the service as i ordered a dish that was extremely spicy (from the sauce), a staff member saw me scrapping it off... More

Every guide book and blog post I read about Christchurch had recommended this place so I was expecting throngs of tourists. Seemed like a genuine neighborhood cafe with a good mix of people and a welcoming environment. We stopped in for brunch with our two children in tow. I loved the hip industrial aesthetic of the cafe and the staff... More

It was raining and cold, so all I wanted was a coffee. The place was busy. And a very long queue to order food (no table service). Upon putting my order, which was in an extremely loud environment, the person behind the counter lambasted me for yelling! I was just ordering a coffee, and trying to hear myself within the... More

We go for breakfast. Really great service and yummy food. We just wait 10 minute to get our dish and it was really busy. Love the open kitchen. Will go back for sure

Awesomely cool space, great coffee. The food looks amazing, but I did not eat here. The design of the retrofitted stable (?) is reason enough to visit.

Black Betty uses Coffee beans by Switch, but somehow comes up short when comparing to other cafes that uses the same beans. It almost feels like they over extract the espresso to the point of utter bitterness. I mean there are many other great cafes around the Christchurch CBD area, it is paramount to get the coffee just right. Then... More

Super delish food ! I only ever have the same vegetarian stack for brunch as it's too yummy to try others but everyone else says they love their options too! Gorgeous coffee! It can be quite busy at lunch and weekends but worth lining up and it moves quick :)))
