l loved the general atmosphere and the wholesome food at the Lotus Heart during my time in Christchurch. The staff seemed a bit snowed under on busy days but overall they are pleasant enough. It is not clear as a diner what the general intention of the Lotus Heart is or philosophy - whether it is just healthy conscious vegetarian... More

Thanks for your review and we are really happy you enjoyed the times you spent with us. To clarify: The Lotus-Heart is not affiliated with any religious tradition and is not a Hindu restaurant. The decorations are just what we enjoy. It is privately owned and operated by students of Sri Chinmoy – author, artist, musician, peace visionary and director... More

We were so exciting to finally visit this famous restaurant but unfortunately the experience was not good. The waiter did not know anything about the choices they offered, we order two breakfasts. One came without coconut yoghurt and the waiter did not mention anything, so I asked if he could bring me a replacement as it was half of the... More

We definitely are sad to hear that your experience with The Lotus-Heart was not a good one. Based on your comments it appears you were served by our trainee barista, a new employee. This gentleman is a lovely person who is admittedly not familiar with the breakfast menu. We sincerely apologise that he was unable to guide you through your... More

I was excited to find Lotus-Heart all vegetarian restaurant when we were visiting Christchurch and thought it would make a great Valentines Day treat! I was disappointed to see they did not serve dinner on the 14th, but was able to book my reservation from their website while still in Colorado. Their new location is walking distance to the city... This is a regular spot for us and the food is excellent each and every time. I usually get the sun burger... it is seriously one of the best burgers I've ever had, but when I branch out and get something else I'm never disappointed. Most of my friends come here as well... it is a wee hidden gem but... More

The Lotus Heart is a great place to eat. Favourite smoothies are the cookies and cream and goji berry - they are super filling and delicious. The Lotus Heart always has a peaceful atmosphere and staff are super friendly and kind.

We went to Lotus Heart for lunch and despite neither of us being vegetarian, it was a really nice experience. We both had the nut burger which was lovely and fresh tasting and not at all greasy. We also had the tropical smoothies which were delicious - can't say I've ever had a drink with a glass straw either! The... More

I have eaten the most delicious dosa in my life. The cookies and cream superfood smoothie was incredible. With the stunning statues and decor, the peaceful music really finishes the scene. Lovely shop to look around too.

this is a quiet, interesting place to eat with a good range of meals on offer. The food could be a bit more spicy, but that is true of a lot of NZ restaurants. The food was well presented and good value for money. The Desserts were rather sweet and heavy for my taste but the smoothies and fruit juices... More
