We had a good dinner here where we tasted our first New Zealand pie and it was very tasty. Decent beer and gin and later a singer performed some "oldies" which seemed to go down well with the older people who were in at the time. (It was early and we had booked our table) My son, who lives in... More

As a tradition, we always try to hunt down an Irish bar on all the adventures we go on from place to place. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, the place was a bit quiet for the size sadly but seemed nice enough. The price of drinks was a lot. More than we expected for what it was, $14... More

A fantastic find on a rainy day, lovely fire blazing, accompanied with great friendly staff and an extensive menu with lots of Irish and new Zealand dishes on there. Menu to suit everyone and great selection of beers. Also noticed they have something on most nights so defiantly will return we I'm back in town!

Large spacious bar and as we were there early got to pick our booth. It was great being able to chat without having to yell, but later in the night, the noise did get louder as the tv showed a rugby game and the volume went up. Service was excellent and the food was both cost effective and tasty. Not... More

Great Irish pub with fantastic atmosphere. Good beer and cider on tap, Irish tunes playing in the background and plenty of Irish staff all added to the fun. We had dinner here - portions were generous and the meals were full of flavour.

Went there in a group of friends for some good, old fashioned, comfort food. Ordered the bangers & mash......Which, according to the menu online consisted of Pork sausages served on a bed of colcannon with caramelised onion and finished off with parsnip crisps, peas and gravy. What arrived was disappointing for a simple dish........ Pretty sure the Sausages were lamb... More

Visited twice, and enjoyed it very much. Friendly service, good beer and food. Sausage platter and Roast Beef were both very good. Second night enjoyed some good live music. Don't request Wagon Wheel!

Had a few pints and some lunch here, guiness acceptable, had a steak special very appealing and pleasing. Staff friendly and efficient, large establishment but a quiet day when we visited hope to catch some banter and craic on a second visit

Many of the restaurants in Christchurch were closed on Monday night, so we were glad to find the lively Bog open and busy. Food portions were large and tasty- typical pub fare. The table and stools were not so comfortable, but the service was friendly and we enjoyed our dinner.

Opened in this new location after the earthquake this large and roomy bar has indoor and streetside seating with a variety of local ales and largers, craft beers and Guinness and Kilkenny. Refreshing airconditioning on a hot day combined with a menu that offers a variety of choices to cover everyones taste. Live music daily and other events such as... More
