This was my third visit to this little gem of a restaurant and once again it was a delight. The food and service were superb and it was just as reasonable as always. It's nice to go to a favourite and find it maintains it's standards over a number of years. Don't ever change!

We stopped by for a lunch bento and although the food tasted good, we thought it was extremely expensive for the amount of food we were served. The bento came with very small portions of meat or fish. It is perfect for people with a small appetite (or on a diet).

We had not booked but were shown to a table right away by a charming waitress. We ordered four plates to share from the specials menu - all were outstanding. This restaurant has a friendly, authentic vibe. We go there every time we are in Queenstown

For Japanese-food lovers like my mother and myself, this was the perfect spot for us to unwind at the end of the day and just enjoy simply amazing, authentic Japanese food. Super fresh sashimi and well-presented sushi rolls. Really friendly and well-mannered staff with good customer service. They were able to provide us with spot-on recommendations about which Sake to... More

The staff at Kappa are excellent; friendly and efficient. The food is authentic Japanese beautifully cooked and presented. The atmosphere is quite homely which is typical small town Japanese. It is also very good value. Great place if you are into Japanese cuisine.

I absolutely love the food, service and atmosphere at Kappa. It is always fresh, delicious and well presented with excellent seasonal specials. The restaurant is small and unpretentious and feels like a true Japanese restaurant. The food is designed to be eaten Izakaya style, kind of like tapas so smaller plates meant for sharing rather than large main meals. We... More
