We ordered a kids serve ($9) and an adults serve ($19). The fish in the kids serve was nice and juicy, albeit a very very small portion- 2 bites for each piece; but the fish in the adult serve was very dry and chewy, not...nice at all. Both serves were very miserly with a very scanty serve of chips, and for the kids serve the 2 fish cocktails were minuscule, and not value for money at all. If you are hungry avoid it and go to one of the fish & chip places further along Beach Rd outside the tourist strip. We ended up going across the road to get something more to eat, because we were still hungry!More

While on a "short stay" in the Batemans Bay area we dropped in for lunch at The Boatshed & opted for the "special of the day", which was fish, chips & salad - I also added 1/2 dozen local oysters for good measure. The oysters...and fish & chips were delicious, the service was fast and the staff friendly. The riverside seating is another attraction that just adds to the experience. Before leaving we also purchased 1/2 kg of prawns (for afternoon tea) which were also very delicious! If you are in the area, consider this venue for a meal, I don't think you'll be disappointed.More

Seating with nice view at the back. Three adults fish and chips with a drink cost a whopping $85. The most expensive fish and chips that I have ever had. We won't be back.

The owners called police on us after we refused to wear a mask & participate in this madness. They finally served us but we got looks from the proprietor.. When the Police final arrived they were very understanding & left after a brief chat to...us. Considering they have been serving fish n chips for 50 yrs the chips were very average.. I will never go back & not support this business ever again.More

We drove all the way from Canberra to try the fish and chips and it was really worth it! The prawns are also nice. There are different types of fish to choose from. The only downside is that it can take up to 30 minutes...wait time when it’s really crowded.More

Yes, it may be more expensive than your local shop around the corner. And yes, staff needs to be trained to appear a bit more welcoming, and yes, aioli is not really mayo and 2 dollars for a pottle is a bit of a rip...off... But old Slim Dusty was right. It's indeed the best tucker on the track. Superb calamari rings, and the battered ling was just out of this world. Great fish, fresh, crisp and well-prepared, so different from the rubbish that is often available in our local shops just around the corner. And yes, this would all be even better if they could serve it with a pint of stout!More

Stopped in for lunch, very disappointing. Unfriendly staff and food wasn't good. Fish was all batter and tasteless. Expected decent chips from a fish and chip place but shoestring style chips didn't impress. Decor very basic with bins in the dining area to clear your...own rubbish. Fresh fish in the cabinet looked clean and fresh.More

Only battered. Can get fresh prawns & oysters but no grilled fish. Batter is very light & could be removed easily
