What a fantastic restaurant. I loved everything about it. The decor, the atmosphere, the food, the service. All exceptional. We had 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian degustation menu and both meals were amazing. I loved the innovative pairing of ingredients and the impressive drinks list,...including fantastic non-alcoholic mocktails and a vast selection of wines and other drinks. Service was fantastic. Professional, not rushed, perfect. Will definitely dine here again if visiting Orange.More

11 out of 10. Service was lovely, atmosphere perfect. Food was bloody delicious and gorgeous. Big wow at the corn rib flavours to kick it off and the enjoyment continued from there. Best dinner experience we’ve had in a very long time.

As a self confessed foodie this was one out of the box, creative tasty superb service and knowledgeable waiters , the menu was adventurous and had all the hallmarks of any hatted restaurant in the world, I would fly back to Orange just to have...dinner there again, One word of warning if you are looking for a standard menu this is maybe not your place BUT if you want a dinning experience , DON'T miss it.More

Ate here last weekend and it was brilliant!! We're massive foodies and love a good tasting menu.. we can honestly say this was one of the best meals we've had in NSW. The service is fantastic, there's a really relaxed vibe to the restaurant and...the staff working in Charred are all extremely approachable and make you feel right at home. As for the food, it's delicious, beautifully presented, unbelieveable flavours and local ingredients... wish I lived in Orange just to go here every season!More

We decided to have dinner in Charred after reading the many great reviews. A number of friends had also recommended it. We weren’t disappointed. The Tasting Menu was wonderful! I also did the wine pairing and really enjoyed the selection of wines. The food and...wine were explained in detail and the dishes were really delicious. The melon was refreshing. The corn on the cob dish was better than expected! The meat was soft and full of flavor. Was a lovely experience!More

Fabulous food but staff could use some work. For a one hat restaurant the service didn’t match the experience. Staff seem flustered and had trouble remembering the courses as they came out (despite being a set menu). Two in our group selected the matching wines....The sommelier was unkept looking showing little interest in his job. We’ve had multiple dinners with a sommelier and they always spend time talking about the wine and describing why it was selected for the course. In this case we likely could of just read the back of the wine label. For these reasons despite the food we wouldn’t return. 4/5More

We enjoyed the tasting menu at Charred for my husband's 50th birthday; it was the perfect dinner for the occasion. The staff at Charred were knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming, even though we had two young children in tow with food intolerances, AND we're non-drinkers (possibly...a restaurateur's nightmare). Don't let the lack of pretension fool you - the food is absolutely top notch. I'd go back to Orange just to dine here again.More

Dinner at Charred was one of the highlights of our driving tour of central NSW. This is one of those dinners that is an experience rather than just a meal. We started with a drink at the bar and a chat with the very friendly...barman. Once we were seated at our table, the food arrived. It was wonderful with each course seemed better than the one before it. There was plenty of time between courses to get ready for the next one. The service all night was professional but casual and friendly. When I asked a question that the server could not answer (about how the lamb was cooked) she went off and found out and came back to tell me. The 2 ½ hour sitting is plenty of time to have a wonderfully relaxed dinner. I highly recommend Charred.More

Yes the restaurant is open but restricted numbers. I think they just changed to a set menu. Friday’s are booked out for ages I think. We took a 5.30 - you have until 8.30 to finish- booking for Thursday. You do it online... More
