This restaurant has been around for many, many years and still manages to keep up its good looks. All very Thai inside. Lovely food. Can't fault it. Well, just one thing! There is no BYO.

I have been coming to Star of Siam for over 2 years. I have brought numerous friends and colleagues for dinner over that time, with not one disappointing meal. It's fresh, the flavours are amazing and it's true Thai at its best. My favourite is all chicken pad Thai, but I can say I have tried over 10 of the... More

We visited on a fairly busy Friday night. The service was helpful and prompt. The restaurant was busy and full of local people with a pleasant atmosphere. It had rather old fashioned decor and the tables were spaced in a way that allowed private conversation. The food was truly splendid with really well rounded flavours and generous portions making it... More

We were staying in Launceston for a couple of days and decided on Thai food on our first night. This restaurant has rather dated decor. The staff were friendly and helpful. Service was prompt. The menu was reasonably extensive. We chose the mixed platter of entrees and Tom Yum soup. The soup was up to expectations. The other entrees were... More

Decided to try this restaurant on whim. We chose dishes we knew and we weren't diappointed. The entrees were great and the main meals, mussaman beef and chicken cashew nut stir fry, were fantastic. A bit on the expensive side but we were on a holiday....

My husband and I came here while on a weekend away, and we were not disappointed! We got in at 8.30pm and the restaurant was still serving until late which was great as we'd been to a movie. We had the fish cakes for entree, delicious! I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken and it was incredible. The mushrooms... More

great food, disappointing that have been attending the establishment for many years on a regular basis but they fail to acknowledge return, long term supporters of the establishment. This does not seem to affect the crowds! Or us who continue to visit because of the amazing food 10/10

We had to start the spring rolls and chicken satay. Did not disappoint👌 i then had the prawn red curry n my partner had the star beef .... his dish was unbelievable. Mine was on point but i had to say i had serious food envy. Would recommend to anyone looking for tasty, fresh, none expensive food.

Booked to go to Star of Siam as had been before when last inn Launceston. Got a table - very busy with loads of people waiting as not too many restaurants open on the day. Looked at the menu - special menu for the public holiday which is Ok but when you double the prices that is not. Very slow... More

We ordered Tom yum soup and lab beef for lunch. The Tom yum soup was not as expected, too salty and sweet. Lab beef as well was very salted. Overall the food was not good and the price is very expensive for a small proportion of food. We don't mind paying the price as long as the food is good... More
