2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

The service was not great.........became self service in order to get cutlery etc. The egg pie I had was $8 for lots of pastry and very little anything else. The eggs appeared to be re-constituted powdered egg and the bacon appeared to be reconstituted dried bacon bits. Very disappointed.

We have stayed at the motel next door on a previous Wanganui visit and got hooked on the pies here. This time the service was not very friendly, the fridge cold drink selection was terrible. My pie seemed like it had been microwaved as not crispy and a bit soggy and was full of slushy gravy and hardly any meat... More

We stopped in for lunch on our way through Whanganui as it is on the main road. Great to get off street parking and the decor was fun and quirky. The girl that served us was not friendly, did not smile which is unusual in NZ, we felt like an inconvenience even though the cafe wasn't busy. The pies we... More

We came in for brunch. What we noticed is that you can get something cheap like a bacon and egg muffin for about $6 or a pie or snack or you can pay typical cafe prices of about $18 for mushrooms and sausage on toast. So there's a good range of food and prices - an excellent selection of pies... More

Went here on a recommendation and was not disappointed. If your looking for a range of tasty homemade pies this is the place to go in Wanganui. Mid range price for a pie but much better than average

On two occasions I have had substandard coffee. The coffee at Kristy's used to be very good but recently has become awful. Tastes like dish water

My friends and I had lunch here on a recent visit. I was told the pies were very good and ordered a lamb and mint one. It was huge, full of meat and very fine! The café is well situated and bright and airy. Service was friendly.

Excellent café This is an interesting café with an eclectic collection of old stuff on display. Roomy barn like structure, with amazing friendly helpful staff. Fantastic pies too. Great coffee, and an outside courtyard for those sunny days. I don't live here, but this is will be my go to café whenever I'm in the area.

Thank Shortcat
