Went up to Kaikoura to spend a bit of money and spread the love after the earthquake. Four of us looking for a nice lunch and a beer, stopped at the Kaikoura Food Company. We all had blue cod and chips, which came with salad. A very nice meal. Staff were great. Many thanks.

Was a bit exspensive, and mybe a little over welming for the staff as they couldnt remember whos food was for what table! when we had table numbers. Communication could probley be better. Will try somewhere different for breakfast as theres plenty of other little cafes around.

We popped in on our way home from Hanmer for a bit of a pick me up, as we have several times in the past. Wedges were scrumptious, the sausage roll was also very good but the coffee wasn't the best we've had here. Rest rooms are nice and clean; the café is warm and spacious and service was friendly... We stopped in for a late lunch. I had wedges and the extra bacon etc, husband had a bagel and fries. Service was fast and friendly and the food was good. I couldn't eat all of my wedges. My hot chocolate was massive and just what I needed after a cold day out. I've been here before and it was... More

We were dripping wet. They offered us a towel which was nice. The warm mocha and bacon and egg pie with chips warmed me up. The fire could have been hotter but then again we were frozen. A guy had made camp in the men's loo so visited the ladies instead. When the hands had thawed we were on our... More

Clean, spacious and welcoming in the drizzle, we stopped for a late lunch enroute to Christchurch from Nelson (avoiding the snow in the alpine passes)and found great toasted sandwiches made to order and very good coffee and tea. The toilets were clean and lots of great historical framed photos on the walls on the way to the 'loos were of... More

This was the first breakfast we had on our holiday in New Zealand. Let's just say it was so good in the remaining 2 weeks no other place quite lived up to it. Delicious all around and the coffee was outstanding. Dont' make the same mistake I did and skip the fudge :( If you're in the area it's worth... More

My husband and I stopped for a late lunch here on Sunday 14th Feb and both had the fish & chips meal. It was blue cod which we had non battered. The meal was lovely with the fish cooked beautifully and nice fries and salad to go with it. I had a large Latte which was indeed large, (like it... More

we called in for brunch with the 2 kids (9 and 11). 9yr old had french toast and bacon and iced chocolate, the 11yr old had pancakes. Both gave it the thumbs up. Adult pancakes and soup for us ... ok. The highlight was the iced chocloate ... and we went back to 2 more a couple of days later
