We ordered Blue cod meal with salad to eat on plastic plate on roadside table. It was $15 a meal. All we got was one very small piece of rather dry blue cod done on grill with white rice and three pieces of lettuce with capsicum and red onion. A very uninteresting and disappointing fish meal from this seaside town... More

The amount of food for $8 was amazing! Huge whitebait fritter with fresh salad, lemon wedge and rice. All in a decent sized container. Very impressive. Half crayfish was served with extras as well. Well done...you guys are awesome.

On Good Friday, I was fasting until we drove by this place. Could not resist the temptations from this place, I broke fast over the seafood platter and it was worth every single bite. All three fritters were delicious, and the paua fritter was very interesting. Super fresh and yummy scallops. Perfectly matched salad and good bread with awesome texture.... More

Was told about this place by a girl in the town whilst gift shopping in beginning of March 2017. Really pleased to find out as to have the same in pub or restaurant they wanted double the money. The girls who staff it where amazing it was hot and sunny and quit busy we got some fresh cooked scallops with... More

Great stop for some delicious BBQ seafood with a great view. You can get a range of different seafood platters and sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view over the water. But watch out for the seagulls, DON'T LEAVE YOUR FOOD UNATTENDED! A girl sitting next to us went up to get a drink and all here food got devoured... More

The girls behind the counter are not smiling. There was not really any exchanges possible since they gave us the menu translated into our language before we even asked them anything. Synonymous of a real factory. And the food is really not exceptional. We had asked for a plate of seafood, we had fish "omelettes", which we never know the... More

having been to this spot many times we plucked up courage and went to the kiosk, ordered two portions of garlic scallops with rice and salad. 20 dollars later we enjoyed a most wonderful lunch sitting at a picnic table looking at Kaikoura bay. Heaven.

Great food and service. The staff have so much patience explaining the menu and crayfish to all their customers. We enjoyed the waterside location and tasty lunch. Worth a stop for sure.

We ate here twice and it was fantastic each time. This is good old fashioned kiwi hospitality and sea food at it's best. I love the fish and scallops sitting on fresh bread to capture all the yummy juices, just like we used to do it when we were kids. All of the ingredients are so obviously fresh.

Small little kiosk by the side of the road, just a bit before the seal colony. Food was fresh, grilled nicely and came served with some rice and salad. We paid $49 for a whole crayfish and had a side of scallops and fish, total bill was around $73. Not exactly cheap but we did order an entire crayfish. They... More
