Nice and close to the accommodation we were staying at in Kaikoura so wandered down for a cold beer and a meal. Friendly staff, good facilities (TAB and pokies) and decent pub grub on offer.

Now the 3.time. ..breakfasts and meals are a disaster. ..cooked and service is very bad. .no efforts are done for improvement. .even to get jam the staff can't be bothered. ..warning....the staff even started arguments. ...wow

The restaurant, is part of the bar, so diners eat among the bar customers. We had a great meal, and for the price I thought are very generous portions. The service is good, and pleasant. The restaurant is certainly worth a visit, as long as your prepared to eat in a very active bar.

Unfortunately we were there on the day Bathurst race was on and had to listen to some other patrons describe the race frequently using the 'F' and 'C' word. It would have been nice if the dining room upstairs was open so we didn't have to listen to their bad, foul, loud language. The waitress was really awesome so that... More

The restaurant was a handy option as we were staying at the Motor Lodge attached. The service was friendly, the meals were huge and tasty. Certainly worth the visit. We dined later in the evening so it was nice and quiet.

Very nice motel and right next to a restaurant. However the TV reception is the worst experienced. Only 4 channels and a matter of fact note for you not to play with the remote. Little wonder when worse than "Preview"

Meal very nice, and reasonably priced. A testament for the meals would be the number of local residents that eat there.

After travelling to the seals and had a wonderful time, called into another place for a stop over/break, closed, so called into the Lobster Inn, the staff were very friendly, we got served straight away although there were a number of customers at the bar. Each time we were served straight away, we called back twice more over our visit,... More

Maybe an off night, but food definitely not up to standard. Pork belly was very fatty (I have had a few pork belly meals, and know what to expect). Steaks were well overcooked when asked for medium, or rare when should have been medium! Bar staff were busy, but that is no excuse for ignoring a customer at the bar... More

We had an early dinner before the tourist buses arrive. The staff were very friendly, helpful and told us of the tourist arrival in case we decided to go elsewhere. The half crayfish I had, at $45 wasn't as cheap as some I have had but it was very tasty.
