Stopped for dinner in this charming vine-covered cottage. The young chef himself served the courses and I was able to congratulate him on his talents. There was a delicious soup followed by a vegetable coconut curry, both meeting my meatless needs with style and flair. A memorable meal.

The Postmasters at Arrowtown is in a delightful historic home. There were good options on the menu and the restaurant is licensed. The chef is evidently English and this is apparent in some of the options. (Fish and chips served in paper) It is a busy place and there was a little wait but the staff were quite friendly and... The combination of cozy and quaint traditional decor and roaring fireplace (mid winter bliss!) meets a very elegant dining experience in the heart of arrowtown - we visited many times and will be sure to return on our next visit. the food (and most importantly, the coffee!) never disappoints at the postmasters.

My husband and I had a truly divine meal. Mine was venison on a smoked mash and his was a slow cooked lamb. The flavours were delicious and textures, diverse and amazing.

This pretty restaurant has inside and outside seating (and glorious white wisteria during our visit, just like the website picture) and is one of the preserved historical town buildings. Both food and service were very good and there was a friendly atmosphere.

Service was friendly and food arrived quickly. This cafe is set in a picturesque old house with a lovely garden. Menu is fresh, my lamb and Kumara pie was delicious.

The Postmaster is a perfect representation of the quaint little village of Arrowtown. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Stop in before you explore the rest of town.

The service was extremely slow, then the food came out lukewarm and bacon was fried to an absolute crisp.

This gorgeous cottage appears to be an oasis of colonial charm, in a historical village teeming with tourists. Inside though, it's chaos. It does sum up the Queenstown Syndrome though: too few good staff. The young women working here were doing their best but were so busy they could not engage, even with themselves. Admittedly, the evening we visited was... More

Step back in time and enjoy a slice of Arrowtown’s rich heritage. The carefully preserved historic cottage, once home to the town’s postmasters, has been a main street feature since the 1860s and is now a popular restaurant surrounded by beautiful gardens. Enjoy the beauty of each season at Postmasters, whether it's soaking up the sun whilst sitting out on the verandah with a refreshing drink or inside by the open fires with a homemade mulled wine in the colder months. The seasonal menu features fresh flavours, top quality local produce, and Central Otago wines which showcase the best of this famous wine-making region.  Plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options available as well as a dedicated kids’ menu.Open daily for breakfast, morning & afternoon tea, lunch and dinner.
