Went with a voucher on saturday night. Venue has plenty parking. Basic cheap furnishings.. Felt like being in an unloved room. Greeted by an older man who had no interest in our custom, showed us to our table. He then retreated behind the bar to watch tv. Restaurant was less than a quarter full. For entree, not surprised the beef... More

As part of a staff development day a group of 25+ enjoyed a yummy Ethiopian Buffet. Lots of variety.

I had heard this place reviewed and was intrigued to try an African meal. I had purchased a groupon voucher for three courses and wine. We handed over our voucher on arrival and were seated. The tables are worse than you would see in a modern shopping centre food hall. We were not given a menu and nor were we... More

I ended up at Gibe with a group of friends on the recommendation of someone else who'd been there. The food was great, we'd never eaten Ethiopian before but it was delicious. Not the most ambient restaurant I've ever been to, the plastic covers on the tables give you an idea. But the food more than made up for any... More

First time bad dinner with my wife, excellent service, fresh and yummi food. Reasonable price. Will certainly be back.

We also visited this restaurant with a groupon voucher but we found it ok!!! The welcome wasn't the best but the waiter answered all my questions and for the 1st time I was served with a Moscato as usually they are cheap dry house wines so very nice for a change-the food we chose was interesting, fresh and different which is... We visited Gibe African restaurant having purchased a Groupon voucher. The experience was terribly disappointing and wasn't value for money, even with the voucher. We found the serves lacking and the menu misleading in its description. The voucher includes two entree dishes. We ordered two Sambussas entrees (as we weren't allowed more than one entree type) and were served two... More

It's not often you would have the opportunity to get to an authentic Ethiopian restaurant. Tucked away and unassuming. The meals were tradditonally spiced and flavoursome with the ZilZil Tibs a stand out coming still sizzling to the table. The waiter was forgetful and hence the Manuel from Faulty Towers reference. There was also no red wines from the menu... More
