A beautiful club with modern decor, the bistro was fantastic, the meals were a great size, plenty to choose from and reasonable prices. It was lovely to sit in a quieter section of the club to catch-up with friends

Passing through Cessnock. After hunting around for a restaurant on Easter Saturday we finally found the Leagues club. Hubby had roast lamb dinner, lamb was fatty & carrots were hard. I had salt & Pepper squid with chips & salad, too much salt & not...enough pepper on squid. OK meal & OK service.More

Came here to see Travis Collins and decided to have a meal in the bistro prior. My partner loved her schnitzel while my lamb cutlets were just ok. Very busy bistro but the staff are very nice and friendly. The club itself appears quite new...or it is well maintained or both but I loved it. I decided to join as a member I loved it that much and the benefits are amazing including 20% discount throughout the club. I was watching the show later with $5 schooners, you can’t beat that. Great venue with first class facilities and great staff. I’ll be back.More

I like to visit Cessnock for the nearby Hunter Valley wine region cellar doors. The Cessnock Leagues Club allows guest membership. Their dining facilities are excellent, staff is friendly, courteous and efficient, and the Tooheys Old beer is something I haven’t had in decades. It...still tastes as good as it did 50 odd years ago. I can thoroughly recommend a visit. The food servings are gigantic.More

Saturday night has live music which is a nice touch. If the bistro is full you can eat in the relaxed lounge area. Food was hearty and filling. The kitchen can give you a tax invoice but not the bar, which isn't good for business...travellers justifying their expenses. Play roon for kids is good for families. Good amount of choices on the menu but nothing uber healthy. Good pub meal options. If under time constraints great option, what you expect is what you getMore

As we were staying in the area, we tried this club for a meal. We were impressed by the venue & the menu, that we paid for a 3 year membership, costing $10. On the purchase of the meal we got this money back, but...will return when in the area again. venue was well set out with many quiet areas to eat or drink. Walls with gasfires separating the room we were in to make some cosy spots. Very nice. Both meals selected were good, Parmigiana & Chicken Filo, the latter I thoroughly enjoyed.More

While not a stand out, an Ok quality bistro and so-so bar facilities. Good play area for kids. Live but average music on Saturday night. Good sport coverage on big screens plus on site TAB. Recommend booking a table if wanting to dine in bistro.

Yesterday we booked a table for 10 to celebrate my parents 67th wedding anniversary. Obviously my parents are elderly (both 90) . We were all visiting the area. The lady at the front desk was helpful and kind, being very patient for dad to find...some i.d. The venue was great for the wallkers. The food was very nice, we all had different meals and no complaints from anyone. But the staff were even better than the food. So kind and helpful, friendly and none of our requests were too much trouble. Would recommend club to anyoneMore

We are a varied group of people. Some vegan and others carnivorous. The club did not have a very extensive vegan or vegetarian menu but altered items on the menu to make them vegan. They were very helpful and accommodating. The food was good quality...and the service was excellent.More

The food service is great but the bar service is very confused with people continously breaching covid rules and also when entering and leaving the club everyone uses a multi use electronic pen and never saw it get santised in the several times we visited...the club.More

Joining up as a member is a smart idea of you're eating or having a drink as you'll certainly save money in doing so. Having said that, it should be noted you don't receive the members prices on food of using the Entertainment Card which...in my mind, is ridiculous. This should be changed, if you've paid for membership, you should get the members price! We sat near the kids playground (the real reason we came here) and the kids loved it. We had a kids fish and chips (standard meal, nothing healthy in site, some carrot sticks would have been good but it seems any kids meal when dining out is unhealthy unfortunately) pizza and chicken schnitzel. Food was all fine, nothing amazing, nothing terrible. Staff were friendly and helpful.More
