The Aurora Ozone appears to have has a monopoly on dining in Kingscliffe. It has a fantastic location overlooking the ocean, and with the volume of tourists has a high turnover requiring booking in advance. The menu was a notch above standard hotel fare (pub...More

Rather surprised to find the service more akin to a pub, where we had to order and prepay at the counter for the food and drinks during dinner time as their website states otherwise. The menu offered a reasonable number of choices. The serving of...More

What a treat! Karen, the head chef, went above and beyond. My travel agent had booked me a few nights on this island. My meal choices did not include a pescatarian option. Karen made me a wonderful fish dish, along with a yummy chick pea...More

Two day Kangaroo Island visits require an overnight on the island. We chose the Aurora Ozone Hotel resulting in dinner and breakfast at the Aurora Ozone restaurant. The restaurant is one of the main bar and restaurants on the island and you'll find locals and...More

All the staff I encountered here welcomed my young family warmly and ensured we, my daughter's included, were comfortable and happy with our meals and had plenty to do. My meal of the beef rip was superb. The others on my table who had fish...More

Good quality pub grub with a decent selection of tap beers and a reasonable wine list. Everything you need when on holiday. Staff were friendly and helpful every time we visited. Book to make sure you get a table, as it is always busy.

A great view from our bedroom and from the restaurant. High Quality food even if this is a bit overpriced, but.... you've to pay for the view on the bay, I guess ! Bedroom was pretty good.

We went to the restaurant based on the online menu which had lots of GF options, BUT when we arrived they had changed the menu so there were literally no GF options on the menu. We talked to the chief who was able to modify...More

A great view from the big glass windows looking over bay. Service was great, very professional. Nice atmosphere with quality fittings. We found it quite expensive. $15 kid meals then add $4.50 if you'd like to add drink & icecream. Most main meals around $35...More

The food here isn't bad, but it is way overpriced in the mains section. $40+ for a main even outstrips Sydney and transport etc can't cost that much more. This is essentially pub food that is pretty much what it says on the box. It'll...More

Why is this restaurant and Bella pizza the ONLY joint you can dine at on a Sunday eve during peak school holiday period. Having no choice tonite we dined at Ozone and yes it was expensive and busy but hats off to the staff, we were fed good food in a reasonable time. So really my question is WHY IS THERE SUCH LIMITED DINING OPTIONS IN KINGCOTE ON A SUNDAY EVE ?! Seriously if you want tourists to come you have to FEED THEM. Bella pizza is nice but once a week for pizza is enough. Wake up Kingscote or tourists will treat KI with the same contempt that restaurants treat valuable tourists.

I agree there is not many other places to eat. There is a great fish and chip shop which we used one or two nights, otherwise we bought supplies at the supermarket and had soups or platters of meat and cheese for tea. It is... More
